Spreading the spirit of innovation

On the morning of May 7, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) coordinated with the Provincial Labor Safety and Hygiene Council to organize the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and Month of Action on Labor Safety and Hygiene in 2025. This is an opportunity to arouse the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and aspiration to rise up in each union member and worker, towards building a team of pioneering workers in the new era.

With the theme "Vietnamese workers pioneering in entering a new era", this year's launching ceremony has a special meaning, taking place in the context of the whole country celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025).

Speaking at the opening of the program, Chairwoman of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan emphasized that May is not only a month of gratitude and practical care for union members and workers, but also a month of confidence, of the beginning of creative, responsible and effective emulation movements.

Last year, the workers' movement and trade union activities in Quang Binh recorded many encouraging results. More than 46,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances were supported. Programs such as "Union Shelter", "Union Meal", health care, and improving working conditions have brought practical results. The whole province has more than 4,100 initiatives and technical improvement topics, generating a profit of nearly 3 billion VND, contributing to improving productivity, labor quality and ensuring safety in production.

Practical support for the disadvantaged

In particular, occupational safety and hygiene work continues to be promoted. Many businesses have invested, proactively built a safe working environment, established and effectively maintained a network of occupational safety and hygiene workers.

Thousands of workers participate in emulation movements on occupational safety and health, occupational disease prevention, raising awareness and responsibility of workers in protecting themselves and the community.

At the ceremony, 50 outstanding workers and laborers were awarded Certificates of Merit for their outstanding contributions to labor and production. The Provincial Federation of Labor also presented gifts to workers who had work accidents, union members in difficult circumstances and supported the construction of "Union Shelter" houses for poor workers.

The Provincial Federation of Labor determined that Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene are the peak periods to organize grassroots activities, focusing on solving issues of concern to workers.

In 2025, with a total budget of more than 5 billion VND, the trade union organization will continue to implement a series of support and companionship programs with workers such as: legal training, safety communication, occupational hygiene, health check-ups, skills training, policy supervision, gender equality propaganda, traffic safety, etc.

The working class of Quang Binh today not only plays a key role in production labor but is also a pioneer in digital transformation, innovation and sustainable development. That aspiration is not only ideal, but is being concretized through action, initiatives and daily responsibility, Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan shared.
