Thanh Hoa City Labor Federation deploys the movement "Locational psychology in digital skills" to popularize digital skills for workers.

On May 15, at the City Political Center, the Thanh Hoa City Labor Federation (LDLD) held a conference to deploy plans and train the "digital education movement" among cadres, union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLD) throughout the city.

This is a specific activity and plan of the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor on implementing the movement throughout the province, and at the same time, a drastic step to bring digital transformation knowledge to grassroots unions.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Mai Ba Nam - Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor - emphasized: "Digital transformation is not only a trend but also an urgent task to build a modern trade union organization. The "Digital learning movement" is an important first step for workers to grasp technology, improve digital capacity and contribute to promoting sustainable socio-economic development".

Sharing the same view, Mr. Hoang Quang Khoa - Chairman of the Thanh Hoa City Labor Federation - affirmed: "The "Digital education movement" is not only an act of adapting to the times but also a strong commitment of the Trade Union organization to accompany workers to enter the digital age, contributing to building Thanh Hoa city to become more civilized and modern."

At the conference, Mr. Le Hung Son - Deputy Director of VNPT Thanh Hoa Enterprise Customer - directly introduced and guided the access of AI platforms to union officials and workers. Mr. Son's presentation received high attention from the conference.

The "Digital education movement" was built in the spirit of simplicity, ease of access and substance, aiming at all union members, especially workers in the enterprise sector - those who are already limited in accessing technology. The key goal is to popularize basic knowledge of digital transformation, equip workers with essential digital skills to apply to work, life and participate in the national digital transformation process.

According to the Plan of the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa City Labor Federation, the movement will be implemented synchronously at all levels of the union with 4 main groups of content: Propaganda to raise awareness of digital transformation; organize direct and online classes; launch a digital self-study movement; and integrate the movement into digital transformation programs of units and localities.

Thanh Hoa City Trade Union sets a target: By the end of 2025, 100% of full-time trade union officials and 80% of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the public sector will be able to use digital platforms in their work; 80% of workers in enterprises will have basic digital knowledge and skills; at least 70% of grassroots trade unions will use digital data systems connected to higher-level trade unions and counter-level authorities.

To achieve the above goal, the Thanh Hoa City Labor Federation will organize classes to popularize digital skills, instruct workers on how to use smart devices, access safe Internet, exploit online public services, shop and make electronic payments... However, models such as "Commune Digital Technology Group" and "Digital Workers' Family" will also be widely implemented, in which each household has at least one person proficient in using technology and supporting relatives to study and access digital platforms.

Notably, the City Labor Federation will coordinate to build an online learning platform based on virtual assistant technology applying artificial intelligence, personalizing learning content for each union member. The learning materials will be digitized in the form of text, images, videos and concise, easy-to-understand lectures, expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025. In addition, free Wi-Fi will be installed at boarding houses, cafes, workers' cultural corners... to facilitate workers' flexible learning.

The "Digital education" movement is not only about propaganda but is a practical solution to shorten the digital gap in the workforce. With a widespread grassroots trade union system and consensus from the direction to the implementation, Thanh Hoa hopes to soon form a dynamic digital workforce, master technology and quickly adapt to the 4.0 era.
