The worry of sending children to workers working in shifts in Quang Ninh
Through the program "Month of Listening to Trade Union Members and Workers' Voices" organized by the Quang Ninh City Labor Federation from July to August 2026, many workers hope to have a place to send their children suitable for shift hours, and at the same time propose some contents on housing, employment and insurance.
According to aggregated data as of September 9, the Quang Ninh City Labor Federation has chaired and coordinated the organization of 12 programs, with over 1,200 union members and workers attending, including 2 city-level conferences. On average, each program has 90 to 110 attendees.
Through 12 programs, nearly 200 opinions and recommendations from workers, laborers and trade union officials were recorded, of which 80% were answered by local authorities, the City Labor Federation and specialized agencies right in the hall.
Opinions and recommendations focused on practical issues such as employment, wages, bonuses, income, working hours, rest hours; working conditions, safety, occupational hygiene; lunch meals; social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance regimes; housing, kindergartens, cultural institutions; deploying the emulation movement "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income".
Mr. Do Van Hung - Chairman of Dong Mai Ward Trade Union - said that direct meetings with workers and laborers in the program "Month of Listening to Union Members and Workers' Voices" help the trade union better understand the thoughts and aspirations of workers.
There are problems in work and life that are difficult to see completely if only receiving information through reports. When workers directly reflect, trade unions, businesses, authorities and specialized agencies listen together, issues under their authority can be discussed and answered immediately.
At the program "Month of listening to union members and workers speak" organized in Hai Yen Industrial Park, Mong Cai 3 ward, many workers working in shifts expressed their desire to have schools and childcare points with more flexible time.
According to workers' reflections, kindergartens mainly operate according to office hours, not suitable for the working hours of workers, workers work in shifts, overtime.
Besides the need to send children, workers are also interested in social housing funds, cultural and sports activities after working hours.
After the dialogue, opinions and recommendations will be fully summarized, classified, and answered according to authority. Trade union levels will coordinate with Party committees, authorities, business owners and related units to monitor, urge, participate and supervise the resolution of recommendations; promptly inform workers, civil servants, and laborers of the results; take the satisfaction level of workers, civil servants, and laborers as a criterion for evaluating effectiveness.
