Thousands of workers return to Ho Chi Minh City to work by motorbike after the holiday

Recorded at the Phu Cuong bridge area (crossing the Saigon River, connecting Binh My commune with Thu Dau Mot ward), thousands of workers from the Mekong Delta and Tay Ninh provinces took turns riding motorbikes to return to Ho Chi Minh City after the holidays.

Most workers use motorbikes to travel back to their hometowns and now return to the northern area of Ho Chi Minh City (Binh Duong before). This means of transport, although hard to travel, helps workers be proactive in terms of time and save costs. Most workers have to travel a distance of 100-300km.

Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Van Kha (32 years old, from An Giang) used a motorbike to go from An Giang to Thuan An ward, Ho Chi Minh City. When passing Phu Cuong bridge, the couple stopped the motorbike to rest.

On every holiday and Tet, my wife and I use motorbikes to go home and return to Ho Chi Minh City. Today, it only rained a little, and the rest of the time it was hot and sunny, it was very hard. The road back was not congested, the cars were crowded and moving a little slower. My wife and I left at 4 am, traveled 300 km, and when we arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, it was already 12 pm" - Mr. Kha expressed.

Mr. Vo Van Van Hoa (53 years old, from An Giang) said that he went from 4 am, traveling a distance of 240 km to Ho Chi Minh City. "My wife and I and my grandson rode a motorbike from Vinh Nhuan, An Giang to Ho Chi Minh City to return to work after the holidays. Riding a motorbike is hard, but it is proactive in terms of time and saves a little cost. Today, traveling without traffic jams, some sections encountered a little little rain, near Ho Chi Minh City, there was a lot of traffic, so travel was slow" - Mr. Hoa shared.

According to Mr. Hoa, working in Ho Chi Minh City has a more regular income, and life is also better. "In my hometown, my wife and I only have an income of about 3 million VND per month, no money to spend. Coming to Ho Chi Minh City, my wife sells fish at the market, and I work at a wood company. Each month, my wife and I spend and save nearly 10 million VND" - Mr. Hoa shared.

Meanwhile, on DT 741 road, My Phuoc Tan Van road, National Highway 13, there are also many workers from Dong Nai (former Binh Phuoc) and the Central Highlands provinces riding motorbikes back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Workers carry luggage and children to overcome the hot sun to return to Ho Chi Minh City. According to records, the weather is entering summer, so the hot sun makes it very difficult for workers to move. Many people carrying young children have to cover themselves with thin blankets to reduce the heat.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, this year, most businesses in Ho Chi Minh City give employees 4 consecutive holidays. Most businesses will operate and workers will return to normal work from May 4.
