Nearly 500 athletes participate in the workers' day festival in Quang Yen
Quang Ninh - Nearly 500 athletes participate in competition at the Culture and Sports Festival for workers, civil servants, and laborers of Quang Ninh province in 2026 - Quang Yen cluster.
From May 16-17, at the Quang Yen Ward Sports Gymnasium, the Quang Yen Ward Trade Union organized the "14th Quang Ninh Provincial Culture and Sports Festival for Workers, Civil Servants and Laborers in 2026 - Quang Yen Cluster".
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), responding to Workers' Month 2026; Welcoming the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031.
Attending the festival were leaders of the Quang Ninh Provincial Labor Federation; representatives of the Quang Yen Ward Trade Union, along with leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Quang Yen, Lien Hoa, Phong Coc, Hiep Hoa wards and a large number of union members and workers in the area.
This year's festival gathered 24 delegations with nearly 500 athletes participating in 3 sports including badminton, pickleball and tug of war.
Within the framework of the program, 62 pickleball matches, 70 badminton matches and 19 tug-of-war matches took place, creating a lively and exciting atmosphere from the early opening hours.
At the end of the festival, the Organizing Committee awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements; and praised delegations with typical achievements and positive contributions to the overall success of the tournament.
Through cultural and sports activities, the festival continues to affirm the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for the spiritual life of union members and workers; creating a playground for exchange and strengthening solidarity between officials, civil servants, public employees, union members and workers in agencies, units, and businesses.
Thereby contributing to promoting the emulation movement of labor production, building cultural agencies, units, and enterprises; building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
