Female nurse dedicated to patients and trade union activities

In the period 2023-2025, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy My - Deputy Head of Nursing Department of Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital, Member of the Executive Committee of the Grassroots Trade Union, Head of the Women's Committee of the Grassroots Trade Union of Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital is one of the typical individuals in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style.

With outstanding achievements in professional work, trade union activities, care for union members, workers and patients, the American female nurse was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for typical advanced students studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style in the period 2023-2025.

In her position as Deputy Head of the Nursing Department, Ms. My always upholds the spirit of responsibility and is exemplary in performing her duties. She participates in coordinating the implementation and supervision of nursing work according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health; focusing on improving professional capacity, communication skills, and behavior for the team of nurses, midwives, and technicians throughout the hospital.

In addition, she and the Nursing Department collectively develop professional technical procedures for patient care suitable to the characteristics of each specialty; urge and inspect the implementation of regulations on expertise, medical ethics, and codes of conduct.

Not only doing well in her profession, Ms. My is also a dynamic trade union official, close to union members. In her role as a member of the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union, Head of the Women's Committee, she always cares about the lives, thoughts, and aspirations of union members, especially female workers.

Together with the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union, Ms. My effectively coordinated the implementation of movements to build green, clean, and beautiful hospitals; mobilized union members to maintain a neat, safe, and friendly working environment. From welcoming, guiding, and treating to guiding patients when they are discharged from the hospital, everything is focused on, thereby contributing to improving patient satisfaction over the years.

In particular, the model "Raising piggy banks - Giving love" implemented by the Women's Union Committee of the grassroots union has become an activity rich in human meaning. In the period 2023-2025, the model collected nearly 180 million VND. This fund is used to support female civil servants, laborers or children of female civil servants, laborers in difficult circumstances, sick, and ill on March 8, October 20.

Not stopping there, in the face of cases of union members and families facing special difficulties and suffering from serious illnesses, Ms. My and the Women's Affairs Committee called for and mobilized timely support. In 2024, the program mobilized 88.25 million VND to support the family of union member Phan Thi Phuong with a child suffering from a serious illness. In 2025, it continued to mobilize 112.8 million VND to support the child of union member Nguyen Thi Diem Thuy suffering from a serious illness.

Ms. My also actively participates in and organizes movements such as "Raising healthy children, teaching good children", "Loving Ao Dai", activities on International Children's Day June 1st, Mid-Autumn Festival, International Women's Day March 8th, Vietnamese Women's Day October 20th, Vietnamese Family Day June 28th. These activities not only care for the spiritual life of union members but also create cohesion in the hospital collective.

From her dedication to patients, responsibility to union members and workers, and the spirit of spreading practical actions, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy My is a typical example of Quang Tri's health sector in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, ethics, and style.
