Recently, the Investigation Police Agency of Hai Phong City Police approved an emergency arrest warrant for Truong Sy Toan - General Director of Ha Long Boxing Agency Joint Stock Company and 3 employees of the company related to the case of transporting and trading nearly 130 tons of pork infected with African swine fever. After the serious incident, the Company also announced a 14-day temporary suspension of production, from January 13 to January 28.
According to information from the grassroots Trade Union, Ha Long Boxing Joint Stock Company has 650 employees. During the time the company temporarily stopped production, all employees in the production sector stopped working. The support block, the business block will stop working or take turns based on actual work.
Regarding the regime and benefits during the period of work stoppage, employees working at Dong Thap Lotus Seed Supply Station are entitled to a work stoppage salary of 3.7 million VND/person/month. Employees working in the remaining areas are entitled to a severance pay of VND 5,310,000/person/month. Social insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance and other benefits are implemented in accordance with the provisions of law and the company's regulations.
Speaking with Lao Dong reporter, a representative of the Trade Union of Ha Long Box Office Joint Stock Company said that in addition to paying salaries and implementing social insurance, unemployment insurance, and health insurance policies in accordance with the provisions of law, employees will still receive a Lunar New Year bonus in 2026 (depending on the production and business situation each year, the minimum is 1 month's basic salary). "The grassroots trade union is still grasping the ideological situation of union members and employees. The company's officers and employees are all people who have been with the company for 30-40 years, so the basic ideology is stable, accompanying the company during this period. The company also announced that employees should still keep in touch with the direct manager during the work stoppage period to be ready to return to work if necessary" - said the representative of the grassroots union.
The Hai Phong City Labor Federation has also worked with enterprises, grassroots unions and related parties to grasp the production and business plan and employee arrangement plan of enterprises in the coming time to best ensure the rights of employees, especially near the Lunar New Year 2026.
A representative of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation said that in addition to ensuring the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees, through this incident, the City Labor Federation will also develop a propaganda plan to raise awareness and responsibility of employees in detecting and denouncing violations in production and business activities of enterprises.
