In case of taking care of Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, the maximum is 2 million VND/person
The Vietnam Health Trade Union has just issued an official dispatch on organizing activities to care for the 2026 Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo for union members and workers.
Accordingly, the Vietnam Health Trade Union recommends that grassroots trade unions proactively deploy and organize activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026 according to Plan No. 72/KH-CDYT dated October 27, 2025 of the Vietnam Health Trade Union.
Pursuant to Section 2.2.2 in Plan No. 72/KH-CDYT, grassroots trade unions that are being treated at the hospital, have to compile and evaluate no more than 12% of the total number of union members and employees under their management who are in difficult circumstances, have had work accidents, serious illnesses, are hospitalized for a long time, have had work accidents (traffic accidents) and are suffering from serious illness, have reduced working hours, lost their jobs, are owed wages and bonuses; union members and employees from policy families, ethnic minorities, who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet for many years; union members and employees staying at the unit or enterprise to work, produce, and do business during Tet; union members and employees traveling far away, losing their jobs due to the reduction of production units or restructuring enterprises, or being severely affected by natural disasters, etc. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor proposed to send 1,000,000 VND/km/km/km to support people in case of natural disasters.
Other special cases will be decided by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Health Trade Union on the basis of implementation according to Decision No. 1411/QD-TLD dated August 1, 2024 of the Presidium of the General Confederation of Labor regulating standards and norms for spending regimes in Trade Union agencies. The maximum Tet care level is 2,000,000 VND/person/time.
In addition, the document guides: Pursuant to Section 3.4 of the plan, grassroots trade unions organize the "Union Meal" for the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year to ensure food safety and hygiene, and comply with regulations. The value of the meal in the "Union Year's Meal" is 70,000 VND/meal from union financial resources and the value from corporate sponsorship or other socialized sources (if any, unlimited value).
The grassroots trade union balances regular revenue and expenditure during the year and uses the unit's accumulated trade union financial resources to carry out activities to care for union members and workers during Tet. In case there is not enough funding to organize activities, make plans to propose to the higher-level trade union for consideration and support.
