Equipping children of union members in Hue with drowning prevention skills in the summer
Hue - Hue City Labor Federation supports 30 children of union members in difficult circumstances to learn to swim for free, equipping them with water safety skills.
On June 10, Hue City Labor Federation said that it has coordinated with Hue City Youth and Children's Center and related units to organize a training class to equip drowning prevention and control skills and teach swimming for free for children in 2026.
Activities in response to the Action Month for Children in 2026, contributing to improving self-protection skills for children, especially children of union members and workers during the summer vacation.
The program attracted more than 200 children studying at primary and secondary schools in the city, along with students from talent classes and clubs directly under the Hue City Youth Center to participate.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, more than 150 students participated in the topic "Underwater safety skills and drowning prevention for children". Children were equipped with knowledge about safety in the water environment, identification of drowning risks, prevention skills, emergency handling and practice of safe rescue plans.
Within the framework of the program, a free swimming class is organized with 15 sessions from June 9 to July 12, 2026 for 60 children. Among them, 30 are children with special and difficult circumstances selected and introduced to participate by the Hue City Labor Federation.
At the course, students are instructed on basic swimming techniques, trained in adapting to the water environment, situations handling skills when encountering problems and first aid knowledge for drowning victims.
In particular, the River Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team under the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Hue City Police directly participated in guiding and supporting teaching with teachers of the Swimming Club of Hue City Youth and Children Center.
Creating conditions for children of union members and workers, especially children in difficult circumstances, to participate in free skills classes is a practical activity to care for, protect and create a safe development environment for children during the summer.
