Caring for Tet in the 2023-2025 period reaches over 20 billion VND

On January 21, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union (VTC) said that in the 2023-2025 period, the VTC and its affiliated unions have focused on performing well the function of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

Activities to visit and give gifts to workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Lunar New Year, Workers' Month, Labor Safety and Hygiene Month; support the construction and repair of "Union Shelter", give savings books to workers; support people and support workers affected by natural disasters, floods... have been implemented practically and effectively. The total amount spent on the above activities at industry unions is more than 7 billion VND, at union levels is more than 31.5 billion VND.

The work of caring for the Lunar New Year has received great attention with the programs "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ket Ket", "Union Tet Market", "Union Meal". The total budget for Tet care of the whole industry reached over 20 billion VND. 100% of units pay full Tet salaries and bonuses; the average bonus for the career sector is from 5-8 million VND/person, the State-owned enterprise sector is from 15-20 million VND/person.

The welfare programs for employees have been increased in both quantity and quality because the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union and its affiliated unions have signed cooperation agreements and linkages with many partners to practically care for employees. Typically, the Vietnam Post Corporation in coordination with Vietnam Post Corporation organizes a workers' market with products and goods with incentives for employees; cooperates with Medlatec Group to implement a health check-up and health consultation program (free or discounted) for employees. VNPT Trade Union signed a cooperation agreement with Vietnam Airlines Corporation, Vinpearl Joint Stock Company so that VNPT employees can receive incentives when purchasing air tickets, hotels, etc.

Every year, over 95% of cadres, workers, civil servants and laborers receive periodic health check-ups; shift meals for employees are guaranteed to exceed the prescribed level; cultural, artistic and sports activities are maintained regularly, creating an exciting atmosphere and strengthening solidarity in agencies and units.

The work of negotiating, dialogue and signing collective labor agreements (CLAs) has achieved many positive results with over 90% of agencies and units organizing conferences for cadres, civil servants, public employees and labor conferences. The business sector has developed and amended 629 collective labor agreements, 100% of which have more beneficial provisions for employees. occupational safety and health work has been seriously implemented; 100% of affiliated trade unions respond to the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH); enterprises conduct environmental monitoring, occupational safety and health training and pay compensation for toxicity to employees.
