Da Nang Trade Union organizes Tet not far from home for union members and workers
Da Nang - The city's Trade Union will organize the program "Tet is not far from home" at 31 self-managed worker groups in boarding houses in Lien Chieu ward.
Giving Tet gifts to 450 workers
On February 8th, Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union, Da Nang City organized the program "Tet is not far from home" for union members and workers residing in 31 self-managed worker groups in boarding houses in the ward.

At the program, the Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union presented 450 Tet gifts, each worth 1 million VND from the City Trade Union's financial source to 450 union members and workers who are single mothers, union members in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions to return to their hometowns for Tet.
In addition to giving Tet gifts, the Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union also organized prize-winning games such as: cooking contest and combined organization of "Trade Union Meal", blindfolded duck catching contest, blindfolded pig slaughtering, pouring water into bottles... In particular, the Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union also organized cooking banh chung and giving them to union members and workers right at the program.
The gifts given today are not large, but they are the feelings, the sharing, and concern of the Trade Union organization with the desire to add motivation for brothers and sisters to feel secure in working and long-term commitment to businesses and localities" - Mr. Le Trong Nguyen, Chairman of Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union, said.
No more "staging
Unlike last year, the program "Tet is not far from home" on the occasion of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year this year, the Da Nang City Labor Federation did not organize a centralized, "staging" program like every year, but assigned the Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union - a unit with 31 self-managed worker groups in boarding houses with more than 7,000 union members and workers - to host and implement related contents.

This year is the 2nd time I have received Tet gifts in the Tet not far from home program organized by the Da Nang City Trade Union. I am very grateful to the Trade Union organization because this is a fairly large gift, enough for me to buy Tet clothes for my children" - Ms. Luu Thi Khuyen, one of the 450 workers who received gifts, shared.
“‘Tet is not far from home’ is a program that is maintained annually and changes its organizational form every year to enrich and diversify activities for workers who do not have the conditions to return home for Tet” - Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, Chairwoman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, said.
Tet is not far from home" is organized annually by the Da Nang City Labor Federation with the desire to meet, exchange, encourage, and share with out-of-province workers working in Da Nang who do not have the conditions to return home for Tet.
The program is also a bridge of affection between workers and the locality where they reside. Although they cannot return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet, they still feel the Tet atmosphere, feel the encouragement and sharing of Trade Unions at all levels and forces in the locality at a meaningful time - the traditional Tet holiday of the nation.
Thereby, contributing to bringing a warm atmosphere, encouraging workers to feel secure in their work and be attached to businesses and localities where they reside for a long time.
