Diverse activities to care for female union members and workers on March 8th

Responding to the celebration of International Women's Day March 8, trade union levels in An Giang province simultaneously organized many practical and meaningful activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of female union members and workers (NLĐ).

Ao Dai Week" launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Vietnam Women's Union, many grassroots trade unions in the province have actively implemented it, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere.

Female union members and workers wear ao dai when coming to the office, contributing to honoring the beauty of traditional costumes and creating cultural beauty in the workplace. Many units also organize photography, check-in at agencies, offices or locations with beautiful landscapes to preserve meaningful moments and widely share them on information channels.

At businesses with a large number of female workers, grassroots trade unions have proactively coordinated with the government and professional departments to organize many activities to care for female union members. Typically, the grassroots trade union of TBS An Giang Joint Stock Company organized to give 8,000 gifts to female union members and employees, each worth 100,000 VND. The grassroots trade union of An Giang Samho Co., Ltd., and the grassroots trade union of Hwaseung Rach Gia Co., Ltd. also organized cash donations to nearly 19,000 union members, each worth 100,000 VND, contributing to encouraging the spirit of women.

The grassroots trade union of An Giang Water and Electricity Joint Stock Company organizes visits and encourages female union members in particularly difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses; and at the same time organizes cultural and sports activities, thematic talks and launches the emulation movement "Good at state affairs, good at housework" among female union members. The grassroots trade union of An Giang Lottery One Member Limited Liability Company organizes diverse activities to respond to Ao Dai Week, folk games, cooking contests, creating a fun playground, connecting union members in the unit.

In the grassroots trade union bloc of the health sector, many hospitals in the province also organized practical activities. Notably, the grassroots trade union of An Giang Central General Hospital coordinated with the grassroots hospital Union to organize the "Folk Culture Fair" program with many rich activities such as culinary booths, traditional street vendors and the cooking contest "Loving Kitchen - Flavor of the Three Regions". The program attracted a large number of union members to participate, creating a joyful, warm, and relaxing atmosphere after stressful working hours.

Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Pham Van Dang said that trade union levels in the province have proactively coordinated with the government and professional departments to organize many practical and meaningful activities towards female union members and workers on the occasion of March 8th.

According to Mr. Pham Van Dang, the activities are implemented diversely and richly, from meetings, cultural and sports exchanges, contests, thematic talks to programs to care for the material and spiritual life of female union members in difficult circumstances. This not only creates a joyful and cohesive atmosphere in agencies, units, and businesses, but also clearly demonstrates the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for and protecting the rights of workers.

Activities in response to International Women's Day 8 have been organized enthusiastically, practically and widely spread throughout the Trade Union system of An Giang province. Thereby contributing to encouraging female union members to continue to promote the good traditions of Vietnamese women, actively emulation in labor production, contributing to the development of agencies, units, businesses and the movement of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the province.
