Thong Nhat Ward Labor Union focuses on handling violations of labor laws

On August 1, Thong Nhat Ward Trade Union held the first (expanded) Trade Union Executive Committee Conference.

This is the first conference held after perfecting the apparatus according to the two-level local government model. The conference was attended by leaders of the Party Committee, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, and representatives of socio-political organizations...

Currently, the two-level local government model has been officially put into operation for a month. This is an important administrative reform step, contributing to streamlining the apparatus and improving operational efficiency in the locality. Along with this change, the trade union organization has also been gradually reorganized and restructured to suit the new model.

At the conference, Ms. Truong Thi My Le - Chairwoman of the Thong Nhat Ward Trade Union (Gia Lai Province) - said that the conference focused on discussing, contributing opinions and agreeing to approve 3 important drafts.

Including working regulations for the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Standing Committee of the Ward Trade Union; Assigning tasks to comrades in the Standing Committee, Standing Committee and Ward Trade Union Executive Committee; Trade Union work program for the last 6 months of 2025.

Ms. Doan Thi Bich Ha - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Thong Nhat Ward Party Committee - said: Currently, the Ward Union is managing 30 affiliated grassroots unions. In the coming time, it is necessary to develop a plan to propagate, mobilize and develop union members and establish new grassroots unions.

At the same time, periodically review enterprises that do not have trade unions in the area to approach and propagate to employees and employers, thereby expanding the network of trade union organizations.

Ms. Ha also emphasized the need to strengthen coordination between trade unions and the government, socio-political organizations and functional agencies, in order to promptly grasp and resolve issues related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.

In particular, it is necessary to focus on handling cases such as labor disputes, unpaid wages, social insurance debts, illegal contract termination and other violations of labor law.
