Training on occupational safety and health, occupational health care for union officials

Ba Ria - Vung Tau - About 80 union officials in the Southern region participated in training on health care for workers and occupational safety and health.

On May 14, the Department of Legal Policy and Labor Relations (CSPL and QHLD) of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) organized a training course on health care, occupational disease prevention for workers, and occupational safety and hygiene (OSH) for Trade Union officials.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha - Head of the CSPL and QHLD Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - chaired the training course; about 80 delegates attended, including lecturers and union officials from the Rubber Trade Union and the Labor Confederations of the provinces in the Southern region.

This is one of a series of activities in response to Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health in 2025 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. In the training program, experts will present 5 topics: Improving working conditions, health care, preventing occupational diseases for employees; Classifying working conditions and classifying arduous, toxic, dangerous occupations and jobs; mental health care for employees at the workplace; Instructions for reproductive health care at the workplace; Instructions for nutrition, rest and exercise, proactive health care at the workplace.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha commented that the situation of occupational accidents and diseases affecting the health and lives of workers has been on the rise recently.

The contents of the program all focus on the goal of health care for union members and workers; ensuring smooth, continuous and effective occupational safety and health work. Therefore, we hope that the delegates will actively share practical experiences at the grassroots level, proactively learn so that the training conference can achieve the set goals.

According to the plan, the training program will take place continuously for 3 days, from May 14 to May 16.
