August 2026, Hanoi has 38,000 job positions

Hanoi Employment Service Center said that in August 2026, the socio-economy of the Capital continued to maintain stable and positive growth momentum. Thanks to that, the recruitment demand of businesses in the City reached 38,000 job positions.

The market recorded strong recruitment demand concentrated in the service - consumer block. The processing and manufacturing - construction industry block maintained a high recruitment level to serve key projects.

Businesses promote attracting the college and university level and above (accounting for 52.5%) to undertake the professional - management framework, and at the same time adjust to reduce the proportion of untrained workers to 19%. The main salary offered is in the range of 10 - 20 million VND/month (accounting for 53.3%).

Regarding labor supply, the whole City has 42,900 people looking for jobs. Supply is differentiated at two levels: The group with university degrees or higher accounts for 36.2% and the group without training accounts for 28.0%.

The job search force is mainly concentrated in the middle-aged group of 35-54 years old (accounting for 47.3%) and the group of 25-34 years old (accounting for 36.8%). The desired salary level of candidates is highest concentrated in the range of 10-20 million VND (48.6%) and the range of 5-10 million VND (43.3%).

In August 2026, the whole city created jobs for 19,900 workers. The Hanoi Employment Service Center organized 24 job transaction sessions, connected interviews for 2,139 workers and 876 workers received applications from businesses.

Regarding unemployment insurance (BHTN) policy, the Center received 6,474 applications; appraised and issued decisions to enjoy unemployment benefits for 8,496 applications with a disbursement cost of 324.9 billion VND; and at the same time advised and supported job search for more than 1,600 people and supported vocational training for 108 people.

Hanoi Employment Service Center forecasts that in September 2026, the Capital's labor market will continue to be vibrant, but the pressure to shift the quality of personnel is increasing. The construction and infrastructure sectors continue to increase competition to attract technical/manual workers for key projects. The wholesale and retail sectors maintain high recruitment rates to serve the school opening season, the Mid-Autumn Festival and the year-end shopping stimulus period. The marketing and digital communication sectors maintain their attractiveness to the young workforce.
