Dong Thap creates jobs for more than 33,250 workers

Mr. Nguyen Phi Da - Chief of Office of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee - said that as of August 2026, the whole province has organized 95 job transaction sessions, job fairs and counseling sessions for unemployed people, people who are receiving unemployment insurance and people in need of finding jobs. These activities help connect workers with businesses in need of recruitment. Thereby, jobs have been created for more than 33,250 workers, reaching 67% of the annual plan. Of which, 1,803 workers have been sent to work abroad.

This is one of the solutions that Dong Thap focuses on to expand job opportunities, improve income and quality of human resources. Along with sending workers abroad to work, the province strengthens the provision of information about the domestic and foreign labor markets, helping people have more basis to choose suitable jobs.

According to Mr. Phi Da, this is the result of regularly innovating the content and methods of job creation and connecting labor supply and demand. This not only meets the recruitment needs of businesses, especially businesses operating in business and production in the area, but also contributes to stabilizing people's lives.

According to the 2026 plan, Dong Thap sets a target of creating jobs for 50,000 workers. Therefore, according to Mr. Phi Da, the Provincial People's Committee requests to continue to promote business connections with workers, propagate loan policies to solve employment and disseminate labor market information. At the same time, review and promptly support workers and laborers in difficult circumstances and those who need to change jobs. The combination of creating domestic jobs with sending workers to work abroad is expected to continue to expand job opportunities, improve income and quality of human resources, contributing to completing the labor - employment target in 2026.
