Vietnam sends congress message to Lao People's Revolutionary Party

On the occasion of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party's organization of the 12th National Congress, on January 5, 2026, the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam sent a congratulatory message to the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

Dear comrades,

On the occasion of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, on behalf of the Communist Party of Vietnam, all Party members and People of Vietnam, the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam respectfully send to the Congress, all Party members and People of Laos, our warmest comradely and brotherly feelings, and warmest and most sincere congratulations.

We warmly congratulate the great, comprehensive and historic achievements that the Lao Party, State and People have achieved after 50 years of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, especially after 40 years of implementing the comprehensive innovation guidelines, 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 11th Congress and the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan of the 9th National Assembly, under the wise leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the prestige and position of the Lao People's Democratic Republic has been increasingly enhanced in the international arena.

Those achievements continue to affirm the correct and creative direction of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, demonstrating the resilient and steadfast revolutionary spirit in the face of all difficulties and challenges, constantly striving for the goal of national independence, building a rich and prosperous country, bringing happiness to the people, while actively contributing to the cause of peace, national independence, democracy and social progress in the world.

The 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party is an important political event of the Lao Party, State and People, marking a new stage of development of the Lao revolution with important strategic orientations, comprehensively and synchronously promoting innovation, strengthening the great national unity bloc, ensuring political and social stability, strongly promoting socio-economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people, steadily moving forward on the path of socialism.

As close friends and comrades who share the revolutionary ideals, the Party, State and People of Vietnam have always stood side by side with the Party, State and People of Laos in every historical period.

We firmly believe that, under the wise leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the brotherly Lao People will continue to achieve many new and greater achievements, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 12th National Congress; successfully building a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified and increasingly prosperous Laos.

Dear comrades,

The special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos is an invaluable sacred heritage that President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, President Souphanouvong respect and the previous generations of leaders of the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries have diligently cultivated, preserved, and left for today's and future generations.

This relationship has been forged through war and peace, the most sacred common property of the two peoples, and is vital to the revolutionary cause of each country.

The relationship between the two Parties, two States and the People of Vietnam - Laos plays an important strategic role, deciding the cause of protecting national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, political stability, socio-economic development and building socialism in each country; at the same time, actively and meaningfully contributing to maintaining peace, stability, promoting cooperation and development in the region and the world.

2025 marks a historic development step in the relationship between the two countries, when the two sides agreed to elevate and deepen the Vietnam - Laos relationship to a new height, which is "great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic solidarity".

This demonstrates the deep and sustainable political trust between the two Parties and the two States, and at the same time affirms the highest political determination of the two countries' senior leaders in elevating the Vietnam - Laos relationship to a new level, in line with the new historical context, meeting the long-term aspirations of the people of the two countries and strategic requirements in the new development stage.

The Party, State and People of Vietnam affirmed that they will do their utmost together with the Party, State and People of Laos to forever preserve, promote and pass on to future generations the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam.

On this important occasion, we express our sincere and deepest gratitude for the great, valuable, wholehearted, loyal and effective support and assistance that the Party, State and People of Laos have given to the Party, State and People of Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and national reunification, as well as in the process of accompanying Vietnam to enter a new era, an era of strong development.
