The General Secretary requested to attach importance to academic integrity and promote Party spirit
The General Secretary noted that special attention should be paid to academic integrity, promoting Party spirit, science and practicality in all products.
Training programs need to have forecasting capacity
On the morning of December 30, in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics held a conference to summarize the work in 2025 and deploy tasks in 2026 in a direct form at the Academy center, combined with online visits to the points at affiliated academies.
General Secretary To Lam attended and gave a speech directing the Conference. The conference was attended by Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc.
Speaking at the Conference, General Secretary To Lam stated that entering 2026, the task set for the Academy is extremely heavy but also very glorious. The entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army are looking forward to the 14th National Party Congress with the aspiration to open a new stage of development.
In that context, the General Secretary suggested that the Academy promote its core role in implementing major projects identified by the 15th Central Conference, which are summarizing the 100 years of the Party's leadership in the Vietnamese revolution and summarizing the 40 years of implementing the 1991 platform.
These are works of special stature, requiring in-depth theoretical thinking, interdisciplinary methods and a long-term vision, truly becoming a source of strategic knowledge, with the value of guiding the perception and action of the entire political system in the coming decades.

The General Secretary requested to continue to fundamentally innovate the training and fostering of cadres in a practical, effective and modern direction, closely linked to the requirement of organizing the implementation of the Party's strategic decisions. The goal is not only to equip knowledge, but also to form a complex of modern management capacity, from policy design, inter-sectoral coordination, risk management, leading digital transformation to creating social consensus and mobilizing resources.
Training programs need to be able to forecast, one step ahead of reality; strongly shift from a one-way transmission model to a model of lecturers - students together creating new knowledge and value; ensure training not only to "know" but to "do", towards public values and the benefits of the people.
The Academy needs to promote digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence in a systematic and selective manner; applying technology not to replace human intelligence, but to improve productivity, quality, unleash creativity, enhance analytical, forecasting and decision-making capacity; at the same time, innovate internal governance in a transparent, modern and effective direction. Along with that, we must especially attach importance to academic integrity, promote Party spirit, science and practicality in all products.
Focus on discovering and nurturing young and talented cadres
The General Secretary noted that he paid special attention to the system of political schools nationwide, considering this the foundation for training and fostering cadres at the grassroots level; strengthening linkages and sharing of training programs, methods and digital infrastructure; improving the quality of the teaching staff, linking training with local practices and modern governance requirements.
The Academy focuses on discovering and training a team of young cadres, young experts, and talents. This is an issue of long-term strategic significance, it is necessary to build a suitable mechanism for attraction, training, use and treatment; create a healthy academic environment, encourage creativity, form strong research groups, create conditions for young people to practice, challenge and mature.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam presented the First Class Labor Medal to the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics for its outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution 18- NQ/TW on a number of issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently.
