The Prime Minister suggested that VTV continue to innovate, do a good job of personnel work, and improve operational efficiency.
On the afternoon of January 10, in Hanoi, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended a conference to summarize the work in 2025 and deploy tasks in 2026 of Vietnam Television (VTV).
According to VTV's report, along with content innovation, digital transformation continues to be identified by the Station as a strategic pillar.
Total revenue of the whole budget in 2025 is estimated to reach over VND 4,200 billion, an increase of nearly 9% compared to 2024, exceeding the set plan; regular expenditure decreases by 7% compared to the plan, thereby creating a stable financial foundation and gradually improving the material and spiritual life of cadres, civil servants and workers.
In 2026, VTV has identified it as a pivotal year to shift from stability - consolidation to acceleration - breakthrough. The focus is on innovating the thinking of television in the digital age; taking the audience as the center; taking high-quality content, data and technology as the foundation; tightening professional discipline; improving governance efficiency and financial autonomy.
At the conference, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh awarded the First Class Labor Medal to Vietnam Television, the Third Class Labor Medal to VTV Deputy General Director Do Thanh Hai, and Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister to collectives and individuals.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated and praised VTV for performing well the tasks assigned by the Prime Minister at the 2024 year-end conference. At the same time, VTV also participates in doing a good job of social security.
The quality of national broadcasters is measured by the number of audiences watching and enjoying programs, which is also a noble award given by the people.
Regarding the streamlined apparatus, VTV has carried out the work of reviewing and reorganizing the apparatus, including reducing 7 units compared to the beginning of 2025 (a reduction of 23%); reducing 45 department-level units (a reduction of 22%); implementing staff streamlining according to Decree 178.
In the coming time, the Prime Minister suggested that VTV better implement the 32-word motto: "Solidarity - Overcoming difficulties - Innovation - Effective profession - Comprehensive breakthrough - People trust - Loved friends - Brands upgrade", focusing on some key contents.
Accordingly, further promote the role of the main media agency, improve the quality and effectiveness of information, communication and ideological orientation. Clearly identify this as an important and continuous political task of VTV. Research and contribute to strategic advice to the Party and State on information and communication. Play a good role as a bridge between the people and the Party, the State and serve the people.
Along with that, promote cultural development, build new people, develop cultural industries, entertainment industries; contribute to "ternationalizing culture with strong national identity and nationwide the quintessence of human culture". Create breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation; focus on innovation and creativity in content.
Strengthen Party building work, strictly implement the principles of operation and leadership methods of the Party; do a good job of cadres as the key to the key, reorganize the organization and apparatus, and improve operational efficiency.
