Can Tho Department of Health informs the progress of purchasing radiotherapy machines for the Oncology Hospital

At the regular meeting of the Can Tho City People's Committee in November 2025 on the morning of December 5, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Viet Nga - Deputy Director of the Can Tho City Department of Health - quickly reported on the situation of purchasing radiotherapists for Can Tho Oncology Hospital.

According to Ms. Nga, the project to purchase radiotherapists for this hospital is currently receiving great attention and urgent implementation from the leaders of the Department of Health. As planned, the Can Tho Department of Health will complete the work in December 2025.

The Deputy Director of Can Tho Department of Health informed that up to now, all targets and plans for 2025 of the department have been completed, of which 17 targets have reached 100%, with 4 targets reaching over 100%.

Regarding the public investment disbursement plan of the Department of Health, it is expected that if the radiotherapy equipment procurement project for Can Tho Oncology Hospital is completed, the disbursement will reach 98% by the end of December 2025.

Previously, in November 2025, speaking with Lao Dong reporter, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Quoc Cuong - Director of Can Tho Department of Health - said that after the direction of the Prime Minister, Can Tho City has quickly carried out procedures to deploy the purchase of 2 radiotherapists for Can Tho City Oncology Hospital as soon as possible.

Accordingly, Can Tho City ordered 1 radiotherapy machine using public investment and it is expected that the machine will be installed in the first quarter of 2026. The Prime Minister assigned PVN Group to donate the remaining radiotherapy machine to Can Tho.
