Military officers can receive a 350% salary allowance when enlisting

The Government has just issued Decree 363/2025/ND-CP stipulating policies to attract and promote talent for the Vietnam People's Army.

The Decree stipulates the subjects subject to the policy of attracting to the payroll in the Vietnam People's Army, including: Cadres, civil servants, public employees; individuals who are Vietnamese at home and abroad who are not cadres, civil servants, or public employees;

The subjects of attraction to sign labor contracts to perform a number of important and strategic tasks of the Vietnam People's Army include: Individuals who are Vietnamese people at home and abroad who are not cadres, civil servants, and public employees; people of Vietnamese origin residing abroad; foreigners.

Subjects affected by the talent appreciation policy:

- Officers, professional soldiers, defense civil servants, defense workers and public employees working in the Vietnam People's Army;

- Trainees trained at military schools, schools outside the military and abroad who graduate with honors are conferred the rank of officer or have their salary and rank of professional soldier.

The Decree specifically stipulates criteria, standards, and conditions for applying policies to subjects recruited into the Vietnam People's Army; criteria, standards, and conditions for subjects recruited to sign labor contracts to perform a number of important and strategic tasks of the Vietnam People's Army; criteria, standards, and conditions for applying policies to subjects who employ talent.

The Decree specifically stipulates policies for subjects recruited into military service and subjects who value talent, including:

Policy on logistics; housing policy; policies on bonuses, personal income tax and protection; policies on additional allowances for those recruited into the Vietnam People's Army; policies on additional allowances for those who value talent; salary policies for experts, general engineers, leading scientists working at core defense industry facilities and a number of other policies.

For the subjects attracted to sign labor contracts to perform a number of important and strategic tasks of the Army, the policies applied include: Salary and bonus policies; housing support policies, personal income tax and a number of other policies.

One of the notable points of the Decree is the policy on additional allowances for those recruited into the Vietnam People's Army.

Accordingly, for excellent graduates, the maximum monthly additional allowance is equal to 250% of the current salary for 5 years from the date of recruitment decision by the Minister of National Defense.

Other subjects are entitled to additional monthly allowances equal to 350% of their current salary for 5 years from the date of recruitment decision by the Minister of National Defense.
