Quang Ngai performs well in election preparation

On February 10, a working delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee - National Election Council led by Politburo Member, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet, Member of the National Election Council, supervised and inspected the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term in Quang Ngai province.

At the working session, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet highly appreciated Quang Ngai province for doing well in election preparation, especially personnel structure, consultation, taking opinions on residence, and election propaganda. The implementation of the steps of election work is carried out in accordance with regulations.

The election of National Assembly deputies of the XIV term and People's Councils at all levels takes place in the new context of operating a 2-level local government, some localities are hundreds of kilometers away from the central commune, and some commune officials have never carried out election work.

Therefore, the province needs to do a really good job of propaganda, good propaganda, and good preparation when implementing will achieve good results. The province needs to continue to pay attention to promoting leadership responsibility and direction from the provincial to commune levels on election work with a drastic and urgent spirit but must follow the correct procedures.

Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet reminded the Quang Ngai Provincial Election Commission that the process of organizing the 3rd consultation needs to be carefully examined, done better, pay attention to candidates introduced by the Central Government, and create the best conditions for delegates to meet voters and campaign for elections to ensure safety.

The Provincial Election Commission needs to continue to update and review voter lists, especially to firmly grasp developments and movements, ensuring that 100% of people of age are eligible to vote.

Previously, the working delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee - National Election Council inspected the election work in An Phu commune. Through inspection, the working delegation assessed that the election preparation work of the locality was carried out quite well, seriously and fully in accordance with the guidelines of the Central Government and the province. Some contents proposed by the local Election Committee on the structure, settlement of petitions, and handling of arising situations have been informed and explained by the delegation.

According to a report by the Quang Ngai Provincial Election Commission, the whole province has 4 units to elect National Assembly deputies to elect 11 deputies; 21 units to elect People's Council deputies to elect 66 deputies and 683 units to elect commune-level People's Council deputies to elect 1,982 deputies.

The whole province has 1,546 polling stations, 1,546 constituencies. By 5:00 PM on February 1st, the Provincial Election Commission had received 22 applications for election to the 16th National Assembly and 120 applications for election to the 14th Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term; there were no self-nominated National Assembly deputies and provincial People's Council deputies for the 2026-2031 term.

The deputy structure of Quang Ngai province is implemented in accordance with the regulations of the Central Government. In which, the structure of the number of candidates for the People's Council at the commune level: women (42.2%), non-Party people (13.85%), ethnic minorities (32.24%).

To date, 96 communes, wards, and special zones in the province have implemented reviewing and compiling voter lists according to each voting area and posted voter lists at the committee headquarters, public places and widely announced according to regulations.
