Arrangement plan for public service units under the Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Home Affairs has received a consultation on "Some issues on arranging and reorganizing health facilities from the central to local levels" from the Ministry of Health.

Notably, the Ministry of Health has developed a plan to reorganize and reorganize service units under the Ministry of Health, including:

For public service units under the organizational structure of the Ministry of Health performing functions serving state management: The Ministry of Health proposes to keep 3 units: Health Strategy and Policy; Health and Life Newspaper, National Center for Health Information.

For the block of hospitals under the Ministry of Health: The Ministry of Health plans to transfer 5 hospitals under the Ministry of Health to local management (Central Hospital 74, Quang Nam Central General Hospital, Central Mental Hospital 2, Phong - Dermatology Hospital, Hanoi Rehabilitation Hospital);

And it is expected to merge and reorganize 5 other hospitals under the Ministry of Health (Central Hospital 71, Central Nursing - Rehabilitation Hospital, Quy Nhon Orthopedic - Rehabilitation Hospital, Can Tho Orthopedic - Rehabilitation Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic - Rehabilitation Hospital) into hospitals and universities under the Ministry of Health.

It is expected that after the reorganization, the Ministry of Health will reduce 10 hospitals under the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Health will only directly manage 29 general hospitals, high-level specialized hospitals, and leading hospitals to carry out the task of professional direction, transferring technology and training high-quality human resources.

For the training institutions: The Ministry of Health plans to merge Hai Duong University of Medical Technology into Hai Phong University of Medicine) and continue to maintain 10 Universities, Academics and 1 Hai Duong Central College of Pharmacy under the Ministry of Health.

It is expected that after the arrangement, the Ministry of Health will reduce 1 university under the Ministry of Health.

Regarding the arrangement of preventive health units: The Ministry of Health plans to reorganize preventive health units under the Ministry of Health as follows:

Merge the National Institute of Nutrition, the National occupational Health and Environment, the National Malaria - Parasitology - insecteries into the National Center for Epidemiology to perform the functions of the Central CDC under the Ministry of Health;

Merge Ho Chi Minh City Malaria - Parasitology - entomology and Ho Chi Minh City Public Health Hospital into Pasteur Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City to perform the function of Southern regional CDC under the Ministry of Health;

Continue to maintain the remaining reserve units as service units under the Ministry of Health and carefully organize within these units to perform the regional CDC function.

It is expected that after the reorganization, the Ministry of Health will reduce 5 preventive health units.

After reorganizing and reorganizing the public service units under the Ministry, the Ministry of Health will reduce 22 units (shifting 6 units to local management, reorganizing 16 other service units) out of a total of 90 public service units under the Ministry.
