Da Nang leaders frankly apologize to businesses for procedures bottlenecks
Da Nang - The city's leaders frankly apologized to the business community for the delays in administrative procedures in the past.
On the afternoon of January 9, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a meeting with businesses and investors in 2026. At the conference, the city looked back at the economic picture in 2025 with many impressions after the merger of Quang Nam province and Da Nang city.
According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, in 2025, the city's economic growth rate will reach 9.18%, ranking 9th out of 34 provinces and centrally-run cities. Total state budget revenue reached nearly VND64,000 billion, exceeding the estimate by nearly 25%. The tourism industry recorded an explosion with 17.3 million visitors, leading the country in the number of international visitors during the recent New Year holiday.
Despite many positive results, Central Party Committee member and Da Nang City Party Committee Secretary Le Ngoc Quang frankly acknowledged the shortcomings in the apparatus. On behalf of the city's leaders, Mr. Le Ngoc Quang apologized to investors for the "bottlenecks" in legality and prolonged land procedures that affected the project's progress and the confidence of businesses.
Regarding the orientation in the coming time, the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee affirmed that the city will strongly shift its thinking from "management" to "creating and serving". Da Nang is committed to shortening the time for handling documents, making administrative procedures transparent and resolutely handling harassment and shirking responsibility.
The city is urgently operating the International Financial Center Office and promoting investment attraction in 7 free trade zones to create new growth momentum.
It is expected that after the Lunar New Year 2026, the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee will organize a direct dialogue forum to on-site resolve recommendations and commitments to truly accompany and not leave any businesses behind.
