On the morning of January 20, the 14th National Congress of the Party (14th National Congress) solemnly opened at the National Convention Center, Hanoi.
With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", the 14th National Party Congress had the participation of 1,586 delegates, representing more than 5.6 million Party members.
At the opening session, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, on behalf of the Secretariat serving the 14th Congress - read the announcement of congratulatory letters and telegrams from the Party itself, organizations and international friends sent to the Congress.
Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van said that the 14th National Party Congress took place at a time of historical significance, a milestone marking the 40-year journey of innovation and the beginning of a new era of development in Vietnam.

The Congress Secretariat then reported 5 congratulatory messages from ruling Communist Parties and ruling Parties from neighboring countries and traditional friends including: Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Communist Party of China, People's Party of Cambodia, Communist Party of Cuba, and the North Korean Labor Party.
Along with that are 31 congratulatory messages from Asian and ocean countries; 26 congratulatory messages from European countries and congratulatory messages from individuals, political organizations, people's organizations and localities abroad...
