14th National Party Congress: Expecting decisions to create breakthroughs for the highlands

The 14th National Congress of the Party took place from January 19 to 25, a particularly important political event, strategically orienting the country's development in the new era.

These days, the ethnic people of Lai Chau province are looking forward to the Congress with a vibrant competitive atmosphere, as well as sending full confidence and great expectations for the leadership of the Party.

Exciting emulation atmosphere towards the Congress

Thu Lum is the most remote border commune of Lai Chau province. Looking towards the 14th National Party Congress, the Party Committee and the people in the commune determined that this is both an honor and a great political motivation for the whole commune to promote patriotic emulation movements, labor emulation in production, construction and firm protection of national border sovereignty.

Thu Luat Commune Party Secretary Nguyen Truong Giang said that the Commune Party Committee focuses on promoting propaganda and disseminating in detail to the people about the meaning and importance of the 14th National Party Congress; linking emulation movements with specific and practical actions. Specifically, the commune mobilizes people to actively transform the structure of crops and livestock; develop household and forest economy in conjunction with ecological environmental protection; effectively implement movements such as "All people unite to build a cultural life", "Joining hands for the poor," "All people participate in protecting national security."

In particular, as a border area, the Commune Party Committee focuses on promoting the role of the people in managing and protecting borders and border markers; building a solid national border posture, considering each person as a "lifeline" at the Fatherland front line.

Similarly, in the border commune of Phong Tho, in recent times, the locality has concretized emulation movements to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress with practical actions.

According to Chairman of the People's Committee of Le Huu Hong commune, the people in the area are enthusiastically competing in production, exploiting the potential advantages of agricultural, forestry and fishery development. Thanks to that, the locality has achieved many positive results in 2025 such as: organizing the sowing and planting of food crops with nuts is estimated at nearly 1,753 hectares; the total output of food with nuts reached more than 8 thousand tons. Currently, the commune has 3 livestock facilities that have reached the scale of a farm, 8 livestock and aquaculture products are certified with 3-star OCOP.

In the mountainous commune of Khun Ha, cleaner roads, more spacious villages, sweet soup shoots, and green ginseng gardens are becoming a vivid testament to the local practical emulation movement towards the 14th National Party Congress.

These days, on the walkways around Lao Chai 1 community tourism village, Khun Ha commune, Mong people with brocade and hook hands are cleaning, renovating fences, sweeping their yards, and hanging the national flag in front of the porch. Each road is cleaner, each house is more neat not only to welcome tourists, but also a practical way for people to compete, towards the 14th National Party Congress.

Mr. Cu A Ly, a homestay owner in Lao Chai 1 village, shared: "My family and I hope to build a more beautiful village image, so that domestic and foreign tourists can know it, so that the village can increasingly welcome more visitors."

Community tourism is becoming a bright spot in the emulation movement of Khun Ha commune. The traditional stilt houses and houses of the Lu and Mong people nestled on the mountainside, along with festivals and unique customs, have attracted a large number of visitors to visit and experience. Many households have proactively renovated their houses and preserved traditional living spaces, considering this both a livelihood and a responsibility to preserve national cultural identity.

Vice Chairman of Khun Ha Commune People's Committee Do Trong Thi said that on the occasion of welcoming the 14th National Party Congress, the commune will promote and mobilize people to renovate villages, build tourism products, and create QR codes to welcome visitors.

From green tea nests, ginseng gardens under the forest canopy, to clean and beautiful villages, imbued with identity, Khun Ha is changing day by day. Sending full confidence and great expectations to the leadership of the Party, Secretary of the Thu Lum Commune Party Committee Nguyen Truong Giang said that the Party Committee and people of the commune hope to continue to receive more deep attention from the Party, the State and the province for border areas and ethnic minority areas.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang hopes that the Party and the State will have more appropriate and long-term mechanisms and policies to invest in developing essential infrastructure; support sustainable livelihoods; improve the quality of education and health; vocational training, and create jobs for people in border areas. At the same time, people hope that the Party and the State will continue to pay attention to taking care of the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially families directly involved in protecting the border, so that people can truly feel secure in sticking to the land, sticking to the village, and long-term attachment to the border area of the Fatherland.

Hoping that the Party and State will continue to pay attention to investing synchronously in education in mountainous areas, teacher Le Duy Khanh, Vice Principal of Lan Nhi Thang Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Doan Ket Ward) hopes that after the 14th National Party Congress, the State will continue to pay attention and practically care for the school environment, from teaching and learning conditions to educating skills, ethics, and lifestyle for students. When schools are supported with appropriate mechanisms and specific attention, each day at school will truly be a happy day for both teachers and students.

Teacher Le Duy Khanh hopes that the Party and the State will continue to pay attention to, improve and effectively implement support policies for cadres and teachers working in extremely disadvantaged areas, especially in terms of treatment, working conditions and professional development opportunities; prioritize policies for ethnic minority students, especially the boarding and boarding school model, to ensure stable learning conditions and improve the quality of comprehensive education.

Emphasizing that the 14th National Party Congress is a particularly important political milestone, demonstrating innovative thinking, long-term vision and aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country in the new period, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Tan Phong Mua A Ward Tru believes that the Congress will continue to pay attention to and issue breakthrough policies, close to reality, especially in developing a socialist-oriented market economy, gradually improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

From the perspective of corporate governance, Mr. Nguyen Duy Kien, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Thanh Cong Lai Chau Joint Stock Company (Tan Uyen commune) said that after 40 years of renovation, the private economy has affirmed its increasingly important position in the socialist-oriented market economy. Not only contributing greatly to GDP, the budget and job creation, the private economic sector is also a dynamic force promoting innovation, creativity, improving national competitiveness, contributing to stabilizing society and improving people's lives.

However, from the practical production and business activities, Mr. Nguyen Duy Kien realized that the private economy is still facing many barriers. Therefore, he hopes that the 14th National Party Congress will continue to emphasize the requirement for strong institutional reform, perfecting a transparent and equal business environment, focusing on businesses and people. State agencies need to clearly shift from "management" thinking to "service," eliminating the mechanism of asking - giving, protecting the right to freedom of business according to the law, so that businesses can confidently invest in the long term, contributing to the overall development of the locality.
