The 14th National Party Congress enters its third working day

In the working session yesterday afternoon (January 20), delegates worked at the Delegation, discussing the Congress documents.

In the opening session on the morning of January 20, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong, on behalf of the Presidium, delivered the opening speech of the Congress.

General Secretary To Lam presented the Report of the 13th Party Central Committee on documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

The General Secretary emphasized that the Congress's motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development" is a call for help, an order of responsibility before history.

Under the glorious flag of the Party, the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army join hands to be united, determined to innovate, and act decisively for a peaceful, independent, democratic, rich, prosperous, civilized, happy Vietnam, firmly moving towards socialism. The theme of the 14th Congress requires us to be more united, more disciplined, more creative; at the same time, we must be more humble in learning, knowing how to listen, knowing how to improve ourselves to improve and continuously progress. The 14th National Congress has the historical responsibility to establish "launching" decisions to successfully implement the country's two 100-year strategic goals.

The general goal is: Maintain a peaceful and stable environment; develop the country quickly and sustainably; improve and enhance people's lives comprehensively; strategic autonomy, self-reliance, confidence, and strong progress in the new era of the nation; successfully achieve the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030; realize the vision of becoming a developed country with high income by 2045, a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy socialist Vietnam. Strive to achieve an average growth rate of gross domestic product (GDP) for the period 2026 - 2030 of 10%/year or more; GDP per capita by 2030 will reach about 8,500 USD/year.

Also in the opening session on the morning of January 20, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, on behalf of the Secretariat, presented the Notice of the congratulatory message of the Party, organizations, international friends and overseas Vietnamese to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (first time) with the number of 559 congratulatory letters and letters, including 109 Party leaders, 6 international and regional organizations, 16 individuals, 122 people's organizations and 306 overseas Vietnamese associations.

Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, on behalf of the Presidium and the entire Congress, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the friendship, cooperation, interest, encouragement, support and valuable assistance that the international parties, organizations and friends have given to the Communist Party of Vietnam and our people; affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam will continue to consistently implement the foreign policy set out, strengthen friendship and cooperation with countries, chinh parties, organizations and international friends, and contribute to the cause of peace, national independence, democracy and social progress in the world.

Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu presented the Report on reviewing the leadership and direction of the 13th Party Central Committee.
