At the 4th National Party Congress (1976), Lao Dong Newspaper conveyed the exciting atmosphere and the great stature of the all-win congress.
The atmosphere of the congress spread on every newspaper page
From December 14 to 20, 1976, the 4th National Congress of the Party met in Hanoi. The Congress was attended by 1,008 delegates representing more than 1.5 million party members nationwide. The Congress elected a new Central Executive Committee consisting of 101 official members and 32 alternate members. Comrade Le Duan was elected General Secretary of the Party Central Committee.
The Congress decided to change the name of the Vietnam Labor Party to the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Before the event, in the newspaper issue published on Thursday, December 9, 1976, the front page of Lao Dong Newspaper had the title "Celebrating the Party Congress". Among these, there are articles "Bringing a red page of history to shine with faith", Lao Dong Newspaper reviewed the traces of previous Party Congresses, specifically: "First National Party Congress: Congress of the process of restoring the Vietnamese revolution"; "Second National Assembly: Resistance Congress" and "Third National Assembly: Congress of building socialism in the North and fighting for national reunification".
During the days of the congress, Lao Dong Newspaper had many articles conveying the exciting and confident atmosphere towards the Party congress.
The newspaper issue on Thursday, December 16, 1976, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "The Congress has always won the future line" stating: "An event of great importance to our country, taking place in the capital Hanoi, the heart of the whole country: The 4th National Party Congress.
The Party Congress is the desire of Party members and people of our whole country after a rich and beautiful mountain range from Cao Lang to Minh Hai gathered together, 50 million people in the great national family of Vietnam together towards a flag, together following a path that the beloved President Ho has outlined: Socialism".

The newspaper also has lines that bring the image of "generations of Party members gathering together, highlighting a beautiful image of our Party, a Party that has clearly demonstrated the strength of the tradition of solidarity and unity from the beginning. For the past 46 years, that strength has been tested, I have trained, and every day it has become stronger, more solid, experiencing countless thunderstorms of the revolutionary struggle,..."
The issue of the newspaper on December 23, 1976, affirmed the 4th National Party Congress's resounding success, the Congress decided to change the name of the Vietnam Labor Party to the Communist Party of Vietnam.
At the same time, the newspaper excerpted the closing speech of the Congress of comrade Le Duan - General Secretary of the Party Central Committee, in which there was a section written: "Our Party has no other purpose than to serve the interests of the working class, the interests of the working people and the whole nation. The entire Party is determined to forever remember and strictly implement Uncle Ho's teachings: "We must keep our Party truly clean, we must be worthy of being a leader, a truly loyal servant of the people".
"Dear delegates, in the coming days, you will return to your localities, back to the factory, the fields, the streets, the villages, the units, the agencies, and our Party organizations everywhere. I would like to express to you, cadres, party members, all workers and all people, my warmest greetings and warm congratulations from the Central Party Executive Committee..."
Bridge to convey the thoughts and thoughts of workers to the congress
In newspaper 2846 before the congress, it was informed: "Recently, the Editorial Board of Lao Dong Newspaper and the Metallurgy Mechanical Trade Union held a seminar with a number of workers on the plan of the metallurgy industry, to discuss and develop a political report of the Party Central Committee at the 4th Congress".

The newspaper conveyed the workers' thoughts to the Party Congress with the article: "On the steel rolling training route, workers hope to have better working conditions".
Then, in newspaper 2848 dated December 16, 1976, "A letter from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to the 4th National Congress of the Party" was published, stating: "Towards the Party Congress, in the past two months, all workers and civil servants nationwide have been promoting the emulation movement of labor production and thrift, improving labor productivity and work efficiency, striving to exceed the State plan for 1976, building more works, producing more products with an exciting and enthusiastic atmosphere, achieving success to the Congress".

After the Congress ended, in the newspaper issue dated December 30, 1976, Lao Dong Newspaper published "Call of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to successfully implement the Resolution of the 4th National Congress of the Party".
