The Department of Agriculture and Environment was established on the basis of merging the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. After the merger, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has 5 professional departments, including: Department Office; Department Inspectorate; Planning and synthesis Department; Construction Management Department; Minerals and Water Resources Department. Along with that, there are 8 affiliated branches and 5 public service units under the Department.
The Department is also authorized by the Provincial People's Committee to manage 2 units including the Office for Coordinating the National Target Program on New Rural Development and the Provincial Environmental Protection Fund.
