National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man commemorates the late National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Huu Tho

On January 25, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man burned incense to commemorate, express gratitude and visit the family of late National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Huu Tho.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the working delegation respectfully offered incense and expressed their deep gratitude for the great contributions of the late National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Huu Tho to the revolutionary cause and the development of the Vietnamese National Assembly.

Talking to the family of the late National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Huu Tho, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man reviewed important milestones in the life and career of the late National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Huu Tho.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that 2026 is the year to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026).

In the 18-year journey of the National Assembly's formation and development, the late National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Huu Tho made very important contributions, especially in the struggle for national liberation and national reunification, as well as in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, especially for the South.

Informing about the key tasks in the coming time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that 2026 is of special importance, the first year of implementing the Socio-Economic Development Plan for the period 2026 - 2030, opening a new development era of the country.

To successfully complete the goals and tasks, it is necessary to pay attention to building a truly clean and strong team of grassroots cadres, meeting the requirements of the Central Government, the City and the development requirements of practice.

"When wards and communes are strong, the city will be strong, when cities are strong, the country will be strong" - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man shared.

On behalf of the family, Mr. Nguyen Huu Chau - son of the late National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Huu Tho - expressed his emotion at the attention of the Party, the State and the National Assembly Chairman himself.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Chau hopes that the National Assembly will continue to successfully implement major policies, especially the completion of the two-level local government apparatus.

On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited and wished a happy New Year to a number of former leaders of the Party and State living in Ho Chi Minh City.
