President affirms Vietnam - Cuba relations are a priceless asset
President Luong Cuong emphasized that consolidating and developing Vietnam-Cuba relations is the aspiration of the people of the two countries.
On the morning of February 3, 2026, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong received Cuban Party and State Special Envoy, Politburo Member, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla during his visit to Vietnam from February 1, 2026.
The President warmly welcomed the Special Envoy who led the high-level Cuban delegation to visit Vietnam immediately after the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam just successfully concluded, a special political gesture, vividly showing the close and trustworthy relationship between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries.
Comrade Special Envoy respectfully conveyed the message of First Secretary, President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel and senior Cuban leaders congratulating the success of the 14th Party Congress and the recent achievements of Vietnam, affirming that senior Cuban leaders consider Vietnam's victories a great source of encouragement for the Cuban Revolution.
Comrade Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla shared that Cuba is always proud to have a friend, a loyal comrade like Vietnam; believing that under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam will continue to create new miracles in the era of national rise. Comrade also conveyed warm congratulations to the Vietnamese Leaders on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Vietnam-Cuba relationship is a priceless asset, a symbol of the era, which has been tested through the smoke of war and historical upheavals. The President emphasized that in the context of the current complex world situation, consolidating and developing the special friendship, solidarity and attachment between Vietnam and Cuba is not only the responsibility of each Party and each country but also the aspiration of the people of the two countries.
Sharing the difficulties and challenges of the Cuban situation, the President affirmed that Vietnam will never forget Cuba's support in difficult times in the past, will always be by Cuba's side to share experiences, help Cuba within its capabilities, and at the same time bring bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries into depth, stability, and sustainability in all fields, maximizing the strengths of both sides to contribute to the development of each country.
Cuban Party and State Special Envoy Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla highlighted the importance that the Party and State of Cuba always give to the special relationship with Vietnam; affirmed that Cuba is always interested in promoting the effective implementation of mechanisms and cooperation agreements between the Party and State of the two countries, and at the same time, promoting people-to-people diplomacy, connecting localities, and strengthening cultural exchange activities to deepen and diversify the comprehensive cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.
The two sides agreed to implement high-level commitments and agreements, especially key cooperation projects on agriculture, renewable energy and biotechnology, create favorable mechanisms and support Vietnamese businesses to invest in Cuba, thereby bringing economic relations to develop commensurate with the special political relationship, and at the same time, continue to closely coordinate and support each other at international organizations and multilateral forums.
