Politburo announces 2026 inspection and supervision plan in Can Tho

On the afternoon of March 5, at the Can Tho City Party Committee, Inspection and Supervision Delegation No. 28 of the Politburo announced the Decision and Plan for inspection and supervision in 2026 of the Politburo and the Secretariat for the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee.

According to the Decision, the delegation will supervise the leadership and direction of organizing research, study, thoroughly grasp, propagate and implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress; the implementation of Directive No. 01-CT/TW dated January 23, 2026 of the Politburo on researching, studying, thoroughly grasping and implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress; Directive No. 46-CT/TW dated May 16, 2025 of the Politburo on leading the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and the election of People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

In parallel with that, the delegation will inspect the organization and operation of agencies and units in localities after operating the two-level local government model; the implementation of tasks and solutions to ensure the implementation of the goal of average gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the period 2026-2030 reaching 10% or more according to the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress; and at the same time inspect the leadership, direction and organization of the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation and related documents.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Duc Thang - Member of the Politburo, Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Head of the Inspection and Supervision Delegation - said that implementing the direction of the Politburo, Inspection and Supervision Delegation No. 28 is implementing the Decision and Plan for inspection and supervision in 2026 of the Politburo and the Secretariat for the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee.

Mr. Tran Duc Thang said that 2026 has many important events for the country, in which, right from the beginning of the year, the 14th National Party Congress was successfully held; in the near future, on March 15, the whole country will organize the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

According to the 2026 inspection and supervision program of the Politburo and the Secretariat, inspection and supervision activities are carried out in two phases. In which, phase 1 focuses on supervising the leadership and direction of organizing research, learning, thoroughly grasping and implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress; the implementation of Directive No. 01-CT/TW of the Politburo; the leadership and direction of implementing Directive No. 46-CT/TW on the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, completed in March 2026.

Phase 2 will inspect the organization and operation of agencies and units after operating the two-level local government model; tasks and solutions to ensure growth targets in the 2026-2030 period; leadership and direction of the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. This inspection phase is expected to be completed in September 2026.

Mr. Tran Duc Thang requested the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee to closely coordinate with the delegation, provide complete dossiers, documents and reports according to suggested outlines; assign focal points to coordinate with the delegation and introduce units for the delegation to choose to work, appraise, and verify.
