3 Army generals introduced to run for 16th National Assembly Delegates

On the afternoon of January 8, in Hanoi, the Office of the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to collect voters' opinions at the workplace for General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense, National Assembly delegate of the 15th National Assembly - who was introduced as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly delegate, term 2026 - 2031.

At the conference, 100% of voters voted unanimously to introduce General Phan Van Giang to run for the 16th National Assembly.

Previously, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army held a conference to introduce personnel to run for the 16th National Assembly.

The conference discussed, voted, and expressed high consensus on introducing General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly with a 100% unanimous vote.

After listening to the opinions of voters, the conference voted on the candidate for the 16th National Assembly, General Nguyen Trong Nghia, with a 100% consensus.

Also related to the introduction of the candidate for the 16th National Assembly, according to the Ministry of National Defense's Electronic Information Portal, on the afternoon of January 7, the General Staff Office held a conference to collect voters' opinions at the workplace for General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense - who was introduced to the 16th National Assembly candidate.

At the conference, 100% of voters unanimously voted to introduce General Nguyen Tan Cuong to run for the 16th National Assembly.

Handover of duties and responsibilities of the Commander of Coast Guard Region 3

On January 8, in Phuoc Thang Ward (HCMC), the Coast Guard Region 3 Command held a conference to hand over the responsibilities and tasks of the Region Commander. Major General Le Dinh Cuong - Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard chaired the conference.

According to the decision of the Minister of National Defense, Major General Ngo Binh Minh - Commander of Coast Guard Region 3, was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Strategy and History of National Defense.

Colonel Tran Xuan Luong - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Vietnam Coast Guard, was appointed to the position of Commander of Coast Guard Region 3.
