Saving costs, improving production efficiency

With many initiatives to help optimize processes, reduce raw material waste, save costs and improve production efficiency, Mr. Nguyen Tien Phong (born 1978) - Production Manager of the Sugar Workshop, An Khe Sugar Factory - is the only case in Gia Lai considered to be eligible to be proposed for the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit.

Attached to the factory for 25 years, Mr. Phong continuously excellently completed his tasks in the 2021-2025 period, achieving the title of Grassroots Emulation Soldier and Advanced Soldier. He has also been commended many times, including the Nguyen Duc Canh Award.

In the period 2021-2024, Mr. Phong proposed and effectively applied many initiatives that brought practical value. Specifically, 2 initiatives in 2021-2022: "Cleaning tubes of equipment evaporating falling film with high-pressure water compressors; Improving the heating steam distribution system for sugarcane juice", helping to make a profit of about 500 million VND. In 2022-2023, the initiative "Designing a circular cooling water system to assist in staggering, stirring layers, and leaky honey tanks", made a profit of about 200 million VND. In 2023-2024, the initiative "Renovating a 2-line mixed sugarcane juice container", made a profit of about 1 billion VND.

Mr. Phong shared that, from the inadequacies in operation, he has always struggled to find ways to stabilize the production line and improve production efficiency. Since then, he has persistently researched and experimented, despite many failures. Up to now, his 4 initiatives have been applied, bringing great benefits to the factory.

Mr. Phong shared: "I realize that many stages and lines are not effective, reducing productivity. I am only looking for ways to overcome, improve production efficiency, reduce costs and help workers work less hard. Practical initiatives require a lot of time for research and testing.

Timely rewards, creating motivation for workers

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Ha - Chairman of the Trade Union of An Khe Sugar Factory - said that Mr. Phong's initiatives are still being applied in the factory, contributing to reducing human resources, maintenance costs, and improving product quality.

Effective initiatives will be rewarded from the science and technology fund, at a rate of 10% of the total profit value. The grassroots trade union will reward an additional 2 million VND for each applied initiative" - Mr. Ha said.

According to the Chairman of the Trade Union of An Khe Sugar Factory, every year, the factory launches a creative labor emulation movement, promptly rewarding effective initiatives, creating motivation for workers.

According to Mr. Ha Duy Trung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation, over the past time, the movement "Good Labor - Creative Labor" has been implemented flexibly, closely following the reality of each industry and each field. Many initiatives and scientific and technical topics have been effectively applied in health, industry, construction, technology and education - training, thereby improving service quality, improving working conditions and production efficiency.

From the perspective of the Trade Union organization, the emulation movement has affirmed its role in accompanying socio-economic development. The Trade Union launched the movement, coordinated with the government and employers to select appropriate content; promptly commended and replicated typical examples, and put initiatives into practice.
