50 HVS workers compete at the Skilled Worker Contest
Khanh Hoa - Overcoming 97 contestants in the qualifying round, 50 workers of HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (HVS) entered the final round of the Skilled Worker Contest.
On September 25, the final round of the 9th HVS Skilled Worker Contest was held at the HVS Training Center.
The contest takes place in 2 days, contestants compete in 5 categories including shell welding, shell fit, pipe welding, pipe fit and paint. The award ceremony is expected to be held on October 13.

According to Mr. Jin Sang Ho - General Director of HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., from 2016 to now, nearly 700 workers have participated in the HVS Skilled Worker Contest.
Through 9 times of organization, the contest has become an annual activity to honor skilled workers. At the same time, it encourages workers to study, practice, and improve professional skills.
Mr. Jin Sang Ho believes that modern technology can only be effective when operated by highly skilled, experienced and responsible workers. This is also an important requirement for HVS to ensure quality, safety and shipbuilding progress.
At this year's contest, the Organizing Committee will award 15 first, second, and third prizes for 5 contest contents. Each prize is worth from 2-5 million VND, along with certificates of merit and commemorative medals.
In particular, the first prize winner will be awarded a 5-day 4-night overseas trip. The second and third prize winners will be awarded a 3-day 2-night domestic trip.

According to Mr. Le Van Toan - Deputy General Director, Chairman of HVS Trade Union, in addition to activities to care for life, the Trade Union coordinates with the Company to spend about 550 million VND per year for training, coaching and skill improvement programs.
This funding is used for programs to help workers have more opportunities to study, train skills and develop their careers right at the enterprise.
Maintaining the Skilled Worker Contest and training programs are implemented by HVS to improve the skills of workers, thereby contributing to building a technical labor force to meet the development requirements of the shipbuilding industry.
