Pcked up 40 million VND and immediately handed it over to the police to find the owner to return
Tay Ninh - After picking up a wallet containing about 40 million VND and many documents, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lap brought it to the police to hand it over to ask for the person who dropped it.
On January 7, An Tinh Ward Police, Tay Ninh Province, said that the unit had proposed to commend Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lap, residing in An Tinh Ward, for his beautiful and honest actions when picking up large amounts of money and voluntarily handing it over to return it to the person who dropped it.
Previously, at around 11:00 p.m. on January 5, 2026, while traveling in An Tinh ward, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lap picked up a wallet that had been dropped. Through inspection, the wallet contained about 40 million VND in cash and many important identification documents.
Realizing that this was a large asset, meaningful to the lost person, Mr. Lap quickly brought the entire amount of money and documents to An Tinh Ward Police to hand over, asking the authorities to verify and find the owner.

Immediately after receiving the information, An Tinh Ward Police conducted verification and quickly identified the owner of the property as Ms. Ly Thi Yen Thu, residing in An Khuong Quarter, An Tinh Ward.
Through investigation, Ms. Thu said that while eating dinner at a banh canh restaurant in the ward, due to negligence, she dropped the wallet without knowing it.
After completing the verification procedures according to regulations, the next morning, in the presence of An Tinh Ward Police officers, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lap directly returned the wallet along with the entire amount of 40 million VND and personal documents to Ms. Ly Thi Yen Thu.

Receiving the lost property, Ms. Thu could not hide her emotions and sent her sincere thanks to Mr. Lap as well as the An Tinh Ward Police force. She shared: "I thought that if the property was lost, it would be difficult to find it again. I was really surprised and touched by Mr. Lap's kindness. Thanks to him and the support of the Ward Police, I have received my full assets."
According to An Tinh Ward Police, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lap's actions are a clear demonstration of honest and honest qualities, true to the spirit of "pick up lost property and return it to the owner".
