Caring for pregnant women and mothers with young children in difficult circumstances
HCMC - Many pregnant women and mothers with young children in difficult circumstances in Binh Thanh ward have been presented with support gifts, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing.
On the afternoon of September 11, the Binh Thanh Ward Red Cross Society held a conference to announce the decision to establish the association and launch a movement to support the Cuban people. The Binh Thanh Ward Red Cross Society was established on the basis of merging the Red Cross Society of wards 12, 14, 26 (old Binh Thanh District).
In the launching ceremony alone, the total amount of donations to the Cuban people reached 26.3 million VND. In particular, Ngo Phuong Anh - a student of class 11CV, Gia Dinh High School - donated 10 million VND from her personal savings.
On this occasion, Binh Thanh Ward also implemented the project "Stidy mother - Smart child" in coordination with the Steering Committee for Population and Development, Women's Union and the Ward Red Cross Society.
The project has presented 60 gifts including milk and candy worth 48 million VND to pregnant women and mothers with young children in difficult circumstances. This is an activity of profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the spirit of sharing, caring, and accompanying women and children in the area.
