Vietnam Airlines offers many benefits to employees
Collective Labor Agreements (TƯLĐTT) at Vietnam Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines) not only aim to ensure the rights of employees (NLĐ) but also focus on long-term welfare policies, health care, support in times of difficulty and care for employees' families.
Caring from pension insurance to workers' health
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dao Manh Kien - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), Chairman of Vietnam Airlines Trade Union - said that through collective labor agreements, businesses are interested in building practical welfare policies, contributing to improving lives and ensuring the rights of employees.
One of the notable contents is the voluntary retirement insurance policy for employees who have signed labor contracts of 12 months or more, management officials and full-time trade union officials. According to the agreement, the program was implemented from January 1, 2017, with a total insurance cost of 300 million VND/person throughout the working process at the corporation, until retirement according to regulations, in addition to compulsory social insurance according to the provisions of law.
In parallel with paying attention to social security when employees are old, the corporation also purchases annual health insurance for subjects subject to application, in addition to compulsory health insurance. The policy also expands the opportunity to participate in health insurance for employees' relatives according to the applied insurance rules.
Not stopping at insurance regimes, the Collective Labor Agreement also mentions many direct supports to share the burden with employees when encountering health incidents. Employees who are working and suffer from serious illnesses are subsidized up to 30 million VND/time/year; cases with particularly difficult circumstances, long-term treatment are subsidized up to 20 million VND/time/year. For relatives of employees suffering from serious illnesses, the maximum allowance level is 10 million VND/time/year.
Notably, this concern is also maintained for employees who have retired at the corporation when suffering from serious illnesses. The maximum allowance level is 10 million VND/time/year for people with seniority of work over 10 years up to the time of retirement and 5 million VND/time/year for people with seniority of work up to 10 years.
In addition, the agreement stipulates that support for employees must be temporary suspension of labor contracts, termination of labor contracts or resignation due to epidemics, economic difficulties, businesses reducing production and business, or force majeure events, causing employers to be unable to arrange jobs.
These contents show that welfare policies are not only focused on the time employees work normally but also towards periods when they are vulnerable in terms of income and life" - Mr. Dao Manh Kien said.
Welfare extends to families, even when employees retire
Collective labor agreements at Vietnam Airlines Corporation also cover many activities to care for spiritual life, support families and build cohesion between businesses and employees.
Accordingly, the corporation conducts visits to employees who are working or retired, as well as relatives of employees who are working when they are hospitalized for treatment. The maximum level of visits is 2 million VND/time, not exceeding 2 times/person/year. For cases where employees who are working have passed away, the funeral level includes wreaths and 10 million VND; in cases where employees who have retired or relatives of employees who are working have passed away, the funeral level includes wreaths and 2 million VND.
In addition to specific welfare benefits, the corporation also organizes social welfare activities and unexpected support for people in difficult circumstances, including those who have retired, are unable to work or have no place to rely on. The policy also pays attention to families of wounded soldiers and relatives of martyrs of employees.
The inclusion of many care regimes in collective labor agreements creates a basis for clearly establishing rights, and at the same time demonstrates the role of the Trade Union organization in negotiating, representing and protecting employees" - Mr. Dao Manh Kien assessed.
