The prestige of trade union officials is built from capacity and dedication to union members
This is the sharing of Mr. Le Van Quyet - Chairman of the Trade Union of 19.5 One Member Limited Liability Company (Department H08, Ministry of Public Security).
On the morning of June 4, speaking to direct at the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, General Secretary and President To Lam raised issues for trade union levels to deploy and implement.
Mr. Le Van Quyet - Chairman of the Trade Union of 19.5 Co., Ltd. (Trade Union of H08 Department, People's Police Trade Union) is passionate about 2 contents in the speech of General Secretary and President To Lam: Improving collective resolution capacity, dialogue at the workplace, preventing disputes from early on, from the grassroots level; trade union officials must have a heart for workers, have bravery in the face of difficulties, have skills to work with businesses, have persuasive ability and have prestige among workers.
According to Mr. Quyet, trade unions must improve collective resolution capacity, dialogue at the workplace, prevent disputes early, from the grassroots level through the most specific content, which is that workers' reflections must be listened to before becoming grievances, and small conflicts must be resolved before accumulating into hotspots.
In the context of increasingly diverse and complex labor relations, improving the capacity for dialogue, collective bargaining and solving problems arising right from the grassroots level is an urgent requirement for trade union organizations. This is not only a key task to protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers but also an important solution to build a stable, harmonious and sustainable working environment," Mr. Quyet said.

In addition, it is necessary to improve the quality of collective bargaining in a practical and effective direction, putting the interests of workers at the center but still ensuring harmony with the interests of businesses. Trade union officials must promote their representative role, proactively participate in building policies related to salaries, bonuses, welfare, working conditions and social security regimes for workers.
Also according to Mr. Quyet, in order for the trade union organization to perform well the function of representing, caring for and protecting workers, in the grassroots trade union, the decisive factor is to build a team of trade union officials with sufficient qualities, capacity, prestige and skills to meet the requirements of tasks in the new period.
Trade union officials need to be equipped with in-depth knowledge of labor law, social insurance, occupational safety and health, salary policies and social security regimes directly related to the rights of workers. In addition, trade union officials need to be trained in skills in collective bargaining, dialogue at the workplace, mediation of labor disputes and handling of collective issues. The ability to analyze and evaluate the situation, advise and propose solutions and work effectively with employers are increasingly important requirements for trade union officials today.
However, professional capacity is only truly effective when trade union officials have a sense of responsibility and dedication to workers. The prestige of trade union officials is built from knowledge, capacity, responsibility and dedication to union members and workers. Therefore, trade union levels need to continue to pay attention to planning, training, fostering, and building a team of trade union officials who are both "hearted" and "reachable", capable of meeting the requirements of renovating trade union organizations and activities in the current period, contributing to enhancing the position and role of the Vietnam Trade Union organization in the new situation," Mr. Quyet emphasized.
