Bao Thang Commune Trade Union Congress aims to innovate and take better care of union members

Bao Thang Commune Labor Union has just held its 1st Congress, term 2025 - 2030, with the participation of representatives of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, leaders of the Party Committee, People's Committee of the commune and 100 delegates representing nearly 1,700 union members and workers of 36 grassroots unions.

Bao Thang Commune Trade Union currently manages 36 grassroots trade unions with 1,694 union members, of which women account for 41%.

In recent times, trade unions at all levels have actively coordinated with authorities and employers to organize dialogues and collective bargaining; take care of the lives and labor safety of union members through the programs "Union Meal" and "Thank You to Union Members", supporting hundreds of disadvantaged cases, including 13 "Union Shelters" awarded.

Propaganda and education activities were promoted with more than 140 sessions disseminating laws, creating positive changes in awareness and working style.

The emulation movements "Good workers, creative workers", "Good at public work - good at housework", "Union joins hands to build new rural areas" have been effectively maintained, many collectives and individuals have been rewarded.

At the Congress, delegates discussed and contributed opinions to the draft Political Report submitted to the Provincial Trade Union Congress, focusing on solutions to innovate methods of operation, develop union members and improve the capacity of grassroots trade union officials.

In his speech, Mr. Phan Huy Cuong - Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation acknowledged and praised the achieved results, and at the same time requested the Executive Committee of Bao Thang Commune Labor Union in the new term to continue to innovate, be creative, better care for the rights of workers, promote digital transformation and closely coordinate with the government in building a strong trade union organization.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of Bao Thang Commune Trade Union, term I, consisting of 11 people; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Commune Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term.
