The Lao Cai Ward Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term aims to build a strong trade union organization, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers.

On the afternoon of October 24, Lao Cai Ward Trade Union held the 1st Ward Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

The congress was attended by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Lao Cai Ward Party Committee; representatives of the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation; leaders of communes and wards and 147 delegates representing more than 3,400 union members.

Lao Cai Ward Trade Union currently manages 75 grassroots trade unions with 3,433 union members, operating in Lao Cai Ward and Bat Xat Commune.

During the past term, the Ward Union has closely followed the instructions of superiors, innovated methods of operation, focused on the grassroots, implemented many practical programs, bringing benefits to union members and workers.

Notable are the programs "Union Shelter", "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month", "Union Meal"...

During the term, the Ward Union supported the construction and repair of 30 houses for union members in difficult circumstances; presented hundreds of gifts to workers and laborers affected by natural disasters and epidemics.

Activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of union members are carried out regularly and effectively, contributing to strengthening workers' trust in the trade union organization.

The implementation of grassroots democracy regulations has had many positive changes. Of which, 100% of agencies and units organize annual conferences of cadres, civil servants and public employees; 90% of enterprises organize labor conferences, 80% of enterprises have developed and signed collective labor agreements.

In addition, the Ward Trade Union has newly established 6 grassroots trade unions, developing 276 union members; 41 individuals have been recognized as provincial-level initiatives, nearly 1,000 grassroots initiatives.

For the 2025 - 2030 term, Lao Cai Ward Trade Union has determined the goal of building a strong trade union organization, promoting the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.

The Congress set out 13 specific targets, with 3 breakthroughs including: promoting dialogue and collective bargaining on wages, working hours, occupational safety and hygiene; promoting innovation, applying digital transformation in trade union activities; improving the effectiveness of policy and law making and proposals.

Speaking at the congress, Lao Cai Ward Party Secretary Nguyen Quoc Huy acknowledged and praised the results achieved by the Ward Union in the past term.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy suggested that in the coming term, the Ward Trade Union should continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; take union members and workers as the center; promote patriotic emulation movements, contributing to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development goals of the ward and the province.

At the congress, Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Inspection Committee and delegation to attend the 1st Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
