Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary visits the miners of Mao Khe Coal Company

Accompanying her were Ms. Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and related departments and branches.

Mao Khe Coal Company - TKV, under the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, is the coal mine with the oldest history of the Vietnam Coal industry.

Coal was discovered and exploited in Mao Khe since 1840, under the reign of King Minh Mang; it has now gone through 186 years of formation and development.

After the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the Giorgio Agreement were signed, on November 15, 1954, the decision to restore Mao Khe mine was announced and became an annual traditional day of the unit.

After 71 years of restoration and development, Mao Khe Coal Company has had more than 24,500 miners working, digging over 900km of tunnel, exploiting over 70 million tons of coal, making an important contribution to socio-economic development.

The company was honored by the Party and State to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; 1 workshop was awarded the title of Hero of Labor in the renovation period and 3 individuals were awarded the title of Hero of Labor.

In 2025, in the context of many difficulties and challenges, the collective of cadres, party members and workers of Mao Khe Coal Company promoted the spirit of solidarity and responsibility, completing the production and business plan. Raw coal output reached 2.5 million tons, jobs and income of workers were guaranteed, average salary reached 22.03 million VND/person/month (equal to 107% of the plan), of which miners' income reached over 27 million VND/person/month.

The fields of investment, environment, social security, national defense and security continue to be implemented synchronously, creating a foundation for stable and sustainable development.

At the 5-Dong - 150/80 Wharf Market, the Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee and the working delegation directly met, visited, encouraged and presented gifts to miners of the 10 Exploitation Workshop, Mao Khe Coal Company who are working and producing.

Sharing the hardships of miners, Secretary Quan Minh Cuong expressed his pride in the spirit of labor competition of coal workers, and sent his best wishes to the staff and workers of Mao Khe Coal Company.

Recognizing and commending the achieved results, the Provincial Party Secretary suggested that Mao Khe Coal Company continue to pay attention to caring for the material and spiritual lives of workers; promote the application of science and technology, mechanics, automation in production; improve working conditions, ensure labor safety, improve productivity and production and business efficiency.

Mr. Cuong also hopes that the team of miners will continue to promote the tradition of "discipline and Unity" of the Mining Zone's working class, striving to comprehensively complete the production targets in 2026, building Mao Khe mine to develop more and more in a green, clean and sustainable direction.
