According to statistics, the Trade Union of industrial parks and economic zones in the old Lao Cai province currently has 45 grassroots trade unions, with more than 5,000 union members. In recent times, the trade union has regularly coordinated with competent authorities to supervise the full implementation of policies on wages, working hours, social insurance, health insurance, maternity benefits, occupational accidents, etc. In representing and protecting workers' rights: 43 43 83 units have developed the Decree on Democracy at the workplace; signed 3 Collective Labor Agreements with many points of benefit to workers. Hundreds of union members with difficult circumstances, work accidents, occupational diseases, and orphans were visited and supported.

The union's working group visited 25 enterprises directly to grasp the employment situation, income, and worker concerns. Union Meal was held at 10 enterprises with a total support of more than 68 million VND.

Two union members with difficult housing circumstances were given funding to support house repairs with a total value of 50 million VND. 9 gifts (2 million VND/gift) and 50 support packages (500,000 VND/gift) were given to union members in difficult circumstances.

All union members have a warm Tet

Mr. Luu Quoc Cuong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Babeeni Vietnam Co., Ltd. Lao Cai branch informed that the Trade Union has coordinated with the board of directors to adjust the quality of shift meals, raising the level from 30,000 to 35,000 VND/meal. At the same time, there are additional meals worth 70,000 VND per week to ensure nutrition for workers.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Hoang Tuan Hai - Deputy Head of the Trade Union Committee of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Lao Cai province said that in recent times, grassroots trade unions in industrial parks and economic zones have closely coordinated with employers in ensuring the welfare of union members, especially wages, income, social insurance and other care regimes.

According to Mr. Hai, the Trade Union Board of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Lao Cai province is urgently coordinating with grassroots trade unions such as Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemical Company Limited; Babeeni Vietnam Company Limited, branch in Lao Cai to plan and organize a school to present "Tet Sum Vay", give gifts, and support workers and children of workers in difficult circumstances.

Assessing the role of trade unions in industrial parks and economic zones, Mr. Phan Huy Cuong - Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor - said that caring for the lives of workers, especially direct workers in enterprises, is always identified by the trade union as a key and continuous task.

Caring for workers is not only a gift or immediate support, but more importantly, creating a stable job, sustainable income, a safe working environment, so that workers can feel secure in sticking with the enterprise and the Trade Union organization for a long time, emphasized the Vice President of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor.

According to Mr. Cuong, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor requires trade unions at all levels to focus resources on organizing activities such as "Tet Sum Vay" and "Tet Union Market", paying close attention to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, workers far from home, workers with reduced working hours and job losses.
