Giving 11,500 free health insurance cards to union members and workers
HCMC - The City Social Insurance (SI) mobilized nearly 10 billion VND to sponsor and awarded 11,514 health insurance cards to union members and workers.
Information from Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance said that in 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council passed 4 resolutions to support social insurance and health insurance participants in the city.
The resolutions issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council have demonstrated the consistency of social security policies and the focus on health care for the city's people after merging the two provinces of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau into Ho Chi Minh City. However, there are still a group of people in really difficult circumstances who are not eligible to participate in health insurance or are not in the group of subjects receiving 100% state budget support for health insurance contributions.
From that reality, in 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance sector mobilized nearly 10 billion VND from funding sources and awarded 11,514 health insurance cards (35.98% of the health insurance cards awarded nationwide) to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
Thereby, it has contributed to spreading the humanistic value of the health insurance card and received the approval of many businesses and communities.
