Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation takes care of 18,000 union members, determined not to leave anyone behind

On August 8, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation organized a program to visit, encourage and support union members, workers and union officials in difficult circumstances to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union.

Attending the program were Mr. Dang Minh Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Phan Hong An - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation; Mr. Phung Thai Quang - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Phan Hong An - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City expressed his confidence in the role of the Trade Union organization. Mr. An said that in the context of the city promoting economic recovery and development, aiming to build Ho Chi Minh City into a leading economic center in the region, the role of workers and trade unions becomes even more important.

I believe that, with the glorious 96-year tradition, the City Trade Union will continue to innovate strongly, flexibly, and closely following reality, accompanying workers in all circumstances, and actively contributing to the construction of a civilized, modern, and humane Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized the representative of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation issued a plan to care for 18,000 union members, workers and union officials in difficult circumstances, with a total budget of 18 billion VND. This is an activity of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union organization to respond to activities to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025).

In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Area Management Working Group No. 3 was allocated 2,700 support packages, each worth 1 million VND. Of which, 100 prizes have been given directly and the remaining 2,600 prizes will be transferred.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Union member of Thu Duc Gas Joint Stock Company said that the support of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation is a spiritual gift for union members, workers, and union officials in difficult circumstances. "We will try harder, work with good determination, and contribute to the development of the city," Ms. Huong expressed.
