Nearly 48,000 Can Tho workers enjoy the Union Meal

On October 17, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (CLF) said that the unit had just held an Executive Committee (Expanded) Conference to review the activities of the Trade Union in the third quarter and deploy directions for the fourth quarter of 2025.

After the arrangement and merger of 3 localities, Can Tho Trade Union has 891 grassroots trade unions (CDCS) with 138,680 union members. The City Labor Federation visited, worked and organized a meeting with grassroots union officials in enterprises in 2025. Thereby, promptly supporting difficulties and obstacles in trade union activities at the grassroots level.

The unit has newly established 6 grassroots unions with 669 union members. At the same time, the names of 46 affiliated trade unions after the merger will be adjusted.

Since the beginning of the year, the City Labor Union has donated 23 Union Shelters, worth VND 660 million; presented mutual support funds to 12 union members in difficult circumstances, worth VND 120 million; presented 2 support packages to union members who died in work accidents, with an amount of nearly VND 160 million....

On the occasion of the opening of the 2025-2026 school year, the City Labor Federation awarded 2,242 scholarships to children of workers in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of over 1 billion VND.

During the quarter, 127 enterprises organized Union Meals for 47,976 workers, with a total amount of over 2.2 billion VND. Can Tho Trade Union has coordinated with the City Oncology Hospital to conduct early screening for some cancers for free for 100 union members and workers.

Through the work of mobilizing donations from union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers in the area, the City Labor Federation has coordinated with units to transport necessities and essential goods to people affected by storms and floods in the northern provinces, with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND.

With the achieved results, the Can Tho City Labor Federation has set out many directions and tasks in mind for the fourth quarter of 2025. Accordingly, continue to pay attention to propaganda work on events, holidays, and major anniversaries; Regularly update and grasp information on labor relations and the thoughts, aspirations, lives and jobs of union members and workers; Develop a plan to care for workers, civil servants, and laborers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026; Promote propaganda, mobilization to develop union members and establish grassroots unions....

To prepare well for the grassroots Trade Union Congress towards the 1st Can Tho City Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030, the City Labor Federation established a Steering Committee and Subcommittees to serve the Congress; Guidelines for directing and completing the General Meeting of Trade Unions in November 2025.
