Trade unions in Lam Dong support workers affected by storms and floods
Lam Dong - The Trade Union and the Board of Directors of Quang Thai Company Limited have just visited, encouraged and supported workers whose families suffered damage caused by storms and floods.
On October 18, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lam - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Quang Thai Company Limited said that the unit had just organized a visit and supported workers whose families suffered losses due to storms and floods.
Immediately after storm No. 11, the union reviewed union members and workers whose families were in areas affected by natural disasters.
"Some union member families in the center of the storm and flood have suffered heavy damage, and are in great need of timely sharing and support from the union and the company," said Ms. Lam.
The union and the company's Board of Directors directly visited, encouraged and presented support to 11 workers in difficult circumstances, whose families suffered heavy losses, each person 2 million VND.
Ms. Luu Thi Quyen, a worker at Thai Bao Tea Group, from Thai Nguyen - the focus of the recent historic flood - said: "The flood collapsed my house and swept away all my property. Thanks to the encouragement and sharing of the union and the Board of Directors, I am truly touched and grateful.
"The storm swept away the roofs, the belongings were damaged, and my whole family had to evacuate to find a temporary place to live. Receiving the support at this time, I am very touched, thank you to the union and the Board of Directors for always understanding and helping us overcome difficulties", said Ms. Le Thi Lang, from Ha Tinh.
