VNPT Lam Dong sends union members to support the recovery of telecommunications infrastructure after storm No. 10

On October 4, Ms. Ngo Thuy Dan Phuong - Chairman of VNPT Lam Dong Trade Union - said that the unit had just organized an organization to encourage workers to participate in rescue and support to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10.

This is a practical action, demonstrating a sense of responsibility, solidarity and sharing with people in flood-affected areas.

"Storm No. 10 caused heavy damage, and telecommunications infrastructure in many localities was damaged. We are ready to support to quickly fix the problem, ensure smooth communication to serve the people and social activities," Ms. Phuong emphasized.

Immediately after the storm, the trade union coordinated with the VNPT Lam Dong Board of Directors to launch the movement "For the national information network - For the people in flood-affected areas". Dozens of union members and workers have volunteered to register to participate.

The unit has sent 2 working groups, each group consisting of 20 experienced technicians, to Quang Tri and Ha Tinh to repair telecommunications infrastructure.

Before leaving, the union and the Board of Directors met, presented gifts, and encouraged the workers to work with peace of mind.

Mr. Vo Thanh Hiep - Head of the working group in Ha Tinh - said that everyone was excited to contribute to fixing the problem.

Although we have to be away from home and work in difficult conditions, we are very proud. Hopefully, we can soon restore communication, best serve people, businesses and local authorities", Mr. Hiep shared.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Consecutive storms No. 8, 9, 10 and floods caused by the storm have killed 19 people and many people are missing. Many houses and production and business establishments had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern and central mountainous provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
