Industry and Trade Trade Union spends 1.788 billion VND to support union members

Mr. Le An Hai said that Tet care activities are mainly carried out at grassroots trade unions, focusing on union members and workers (DV, NLD) who are directly producing. In particular, priority is given to union members and employees in especially difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, reduced working hours, job losses, or unpaid wages and bonuses; union members and employees from policy families, ethnic minorities, who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet for many years; union members and employees who stay at their units and enterprises to work, produce and do business during Tet; union officials and union members who travel far away due to the reorganization of the apparatus of the political system at all levels.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade said that economic group trade unions and general trade unions under the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade will organize activities such as establishing groups to visit, give gifts, and wish a happy New Year to union members and employees at enterprises with many union members, employees, and employees in industrial parks and export processing zones; places with many workers in difficulty, low income, and heavily affected by natural disasters, etc. Units will proactively balance union financial resources and mobilize social resources to visit, give gifts, and wish a happy New Year to union members and employees. Maximum care level: 1,000,000 VND/meal and paid in cash.

Along with that, the economic group trade union, the general trade union under the Vietnam Trade Union, based on actual resources and the needs of union members and employees, coordinated with businesses, employers and local authorities to organize the "Union Bus - Spring 2026", "Union Train - Spring 2026" to welcome - bring union members and employees back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet safely, happily, bearing the mark of the Trade Union organization. Priority is given to union members who are in difficulty or have not returned home for Tet for many years.

At the grassroots level, the grassroots trade union organizes the program "Tet Sum Vay"; visits, gifts, and New Year greetings to union members and workers... The grassroots trade union coordinates and mobilizes resources from enterprises, local authorities and higher-level trade unions to organize buses, trains, and flights to take and pick up workers to their hometowns to celebrate Tet.

Organizing the "Union Meal" for the 2026 Binh Ngo New Year for members and employees is an opportunity for members, employees, union organizations, employers, leaders of local governments and agencies to share and confide in creating an atmosphere of solidarity and understanding, thereby building trust and attachment of union members and employees to the union organization and businesses. The value of the meal in the "Union Year's Meal" is 70,000 VND/meal from union financial resources and the value from corporate sponsorship or other socialized sources...

Along with that, grassroots trade unions base on the situation of union members and employees staying at enterprises and localities, not returning to their hometowns to celebrate Tet to organize warm and joyful activities bearing the Union's mark. In case many union members and employees do not return home for Tet, organize the program "Tet not far from home" or other appropriate activities; pay attention to visiting, giving gifts, organizing Tet for workers in boarding houses or on construction sites and projects before the evening of the 30th of Tet (this year is the 29th of the 12th lunar month).

According to Mr. Le An Hai, the Vietnam Trade Union has also just decided to spend 1.788 billion VND - from the financial resources of the Vietnam Trade Union - to support union members and workers in difficult circumstances at 70 grassroots unions under the industry union on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026. Each union member and employee is supported with 1,000,000 VND.
