Nui Thanh Trade Union, Da Nang presented support to 52 members of the Fisheries Union

On the afternoon of January 7, the Da Nang City Labor Federation (DOLF) organized a support handover ceremony for 52 members of the Tam Giang Fisheries Union (under the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union). Each union member received a gift worth 2 million VND in cash.

Previously, while fishing and exploiting aquatic products in the East Sea, a fishing boat of fishermen from the Tam Giang Fisheries Union caught fire and sank completely into the sea.

The union members and boat owners were fortunately saved in time thanks to the nearby fishing boat. Up to now, all union members have been brought home safely, only 1 union member is being treated at Nha Trang General Hospital, Khanh Hoa province.

Understanding the difficult circumstances of the union members, the Nui Thanh Commune Union has issued a document requesting the City Labor Federation to support and share with the Tam Giang Fisheries Union. Based on the financial regulations of the Trade Union, the City Labor Federation approved 104 million VND to support 52 union members and fishermen of the Tam Giang Fisheries Union in distress.

At the gift-giving ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, shared the difficulties that union members have encountered. Ms. Anh hopes that the union members will quickly stabilize their psychology and health and continue to stick to the sea to not only ensure their family's economy but also contribute to protecting the sovereignty of their homeland's sea and islands.
